Goodwill shirts here are around $4.95. Sometimes they have sales with certain color price tags. I have quit donating there and don't even bother to go look anymore.

The GW here doesn't have any sales. They said this store didn't need to do it. The GW pays their CEO an outrages wage, the store manager makes a good wage, but the worker bees (mentally challenged) don't make even min wage.
It is a shame that what is given to GW is not priced lower for people that need things. |
Well, I think you got two shirts for the one you lost. That is more fabric. Yippee. That was sweet of him to fork over two of his shirts but it was to a good cause. thanks for the good chuckle !! :)

My husband loves going to the thrift stores for his shirts. (Says they are already broken in.) Has done this for years. I don't think the price has ever been under $4 and generally more unless he happened to hit a sale day. They probably think their prices are cheap compared to what you pay at most regular stores.

there was an article online (on Yahoo) yesterday about GW and SA donated clothing. A LOT of it ends up in Africa being SOLD, not donated. Said it not only hurts their textile industry but it shows how when you believe that you are donating decent clothing to needy Americans in your local area-GW and SA are not as donation orientated as we were led to believe.

That is funny. It seems like to me that goodwill (and some of those places like that) are too expensive for used items.
I am wanting to make one of those shirt aprons. They are cute, have you seen them? Made all three of my granddaughters each one and going to do it again this Christmas. The first one was a little frazzling but then the other 2 were easy peasy .. They turned out very nice and the kids enjoyed them ... |
sigh...it's getting so you can't even afford to be poor!
course, it wouldn't have anything to do with needing quilting supplies...:p |
My thinking is a fat quarter is $1.95 so anything I buy always have more fabric than a FQ so it's a good price for what you get!! Remember what we used to buy fabric for at our LQS? How much have they gone up too?
