I've had my 1500s since last May and I love it! My only regret is that I didn't buy it years ago. It's great.
I haven't had any problems. I use Glide thread on top and Bottom Line for the bobbin and the stitch is beautiful .
I have other machines also, but it is my favorite.

Once again, Thank you for the replies! I did a search here and read as much as I could and am THRILLD to say that I ordered it from Amazon! I am self taught with my other machines so I'm sure that armed with the owners manual I will do just fine. Now for the hard part.....waiting!

Sewsumi, I am curious why you use dif threads for bobbin and top threads. If it solves a problem, how did you figure out which worked best in each place. I haven't FMQ yet. Just got mine set up today. I can hand thread it but haven't gotten the knack for the automatic threader. I know I am doing something wrong even though I think I am doing exactly what the book says. I want to master that before I use it on the quoting frame.
