baby lock makes the brother machines. I have a Brother Innov'is NX 450 Q and love it. I have had it over 5 years and pieced many many quilts on it and it keeps on sewing.

I have a Brother Project Runway and love it! I use it for quilting and all the stitches it has. My backup is a 15+ year old Singer that I also love.

A while back one of our very sage members told us about an article..."Too Much Information"...all about sewing machines. It is long but contains anything and everything you need to know about what brand sewing machine, serger to buy. Here's the web address:

I love my Brother machines. Three very basic cheapy dinky mechanicals. They sew through anything, take any kind of thread, don't balk when they need to be cleaned out, never have had a tension issue. I always get my feelings hurt on their behalf when I hear anything negative about them.

I have a little Project Runway Limited Edition that I purchased at my LQS for less than $300. I piece all my quilt tops on it, but since I hand quilt have never tried it for that. It is light weight enough to carry to classes and has more fancy stitches than I will ever use. I am very pleased with it.

Hi,
Janome does not own brother. Janome owns Pfaff and Elna. Janome also has Memory craft or New Home. Kathy |
Brother makes all ranges of quality machines. The dealer sold Brothers are the highest quality. Just remember the chain store machines can sew great but you aren't buying Brother's quality. I have the Brother 1500 and it has been loaned out to many friends trying it out for fmqing. Even when used by many different people it still works great. Not much to go wrong with it other then actually breaking the thing in pieces.

I have two Brothers - love 'em both.

As far I'm concern I will give the Brother sewing Machine An A+, I got mine since 1983, a simple math, 2013, 30 years.
I never had a problem, I still got the original Manual, it's so easy to understand. I oiled Myself, but I send it out for a very good tune up and clean the some of the lints I've missed. This machine created an Award Winning Quilts, a lot of them! If they make the same machine (which I doubt, not much metal today, its mostly plastic) I highly recommend it. I would like to have the new one of course. Don't judge the machine by the price tag. the most important, is your comfort! |
I have one and it is a work horse

I know I want a Brother CS6000i sewing machine. I've looked at them online and at the WalMart that is in my town. The closest dealer that sells Brother sewing machines is 4 hours driving time away from me. I've read that Brother makes low-quality machines for chain stores to sell. I bought my last Brother from WalMart, but that was 15 years ago. Would I be making a mistake buying my new one the same way this time?

If it were me, I would get it. Save the box and receipt. If it crashes within a reasonable time, or you don't like it, you can return it.

I have a brother embroidery machine that my brother gave me as a gift in 2006 and had trouble twice, works like a charm, then I bought a Brother serger, a project runway, thread easier than the older one. I love it
