After reading all these posts of patterns, fabrics, and quilt shops, I am going to need to create a Bucket List!

alikat110 07-05-2011 03:59 PM

Dear jane is on mine, but does that mean every block I complete is a nail in my coffin????

Buckeye Rose 07-05-2011 04:12 PM

I have so many on my bucket list that I had to create a file with pics in my computer!

LOL I've yet to meet a quilter who said I've everything finished.

Jennifer22206 07-05-2011 04:22 PM

I've got so many in my list - I just call it a wish list. :D And, I'm 28 so I hope I have a long chance to get what's on there now done. :D Just think of all the projects I can add in the future.

#1piecemaker 07-05-2011 04:30 PM

I've got so many plans and keep finding more. The way I look at it, I've got an awful big bucket. Hope I don't ever kick it!!

GagaSmith 07-05-2011 05:12 PM

If I live to be 100 and quilt 8 hours a day, every day, I will still not finish all that I would like to make. I keep finding more and more things to add. It's great to have no end in sight!

Amen! My Aunt lived on one of the five finger lakes, Bath.

ccrow99 07-05-2011 05:30 PM

If we can't finish our bucket lists, does this mean we just get to keep quilting? We can see each other on Willard Scott's Smucker tributes and credit quilting for our ridiculous longevity! I'm willing to give it a try.

I don't think there is one. We just keep starting new projects.

Good...then I can keep working on it

Not possible for me to live long enough to quilt up all the fabric I have. I have stopped buying more, finally. Good luck to you younger quilters. You will need to stay focused or it may be iffy for you also.

Well, too many projects on the shelf.... I need to live forever....

Maybe there are quilt shops in heaven. At least I hoping there are otherwise it's going to be pretty boring.

maine ladybug 07-05-2011 07:37 PM

I have to have two "bucket lists". One for quilting and one for the rest of life. I'll never make it to the end of either!!!

Susie Quilter 07-05-2011 07:38 PM

Too funny.

Hmmmm.....if I live to be 100 and quilt 24/7, I wouldn't finish all that I have in the works right now.....lol

I have a bucket list to visit every quilting store in Illinois. Who knows I might just make it every state!

Janet My 07-06-2011 03:46 AM

If I quilted 24/7 for the next 250 years I don't think I could get through all the quilts that I have saved on this computer... let alone all the patterns and books that I've bought.

Some quilter will have a field day with my stuff when I'm gone. That makes me smile. :)

Bliss 07-06-2011 04:01 AM

I think it is best to have a bucket list too long to finish
And every quilt we make and share with love makes our lives longer

dphelps 07-06-2011 04:02 AM

My bucket list is so large, it takes up a 55 Gallon drum. I will NEVER reach the end.

meanmom 07-06-2011 04:33 AM

My bucket list is endless. I will never complete it. I have actually pretty much quit bookmarking things because I can't decide what to do from the list I have now because there are too many bookmarks now. The next thing I plan to start is my Dear Jane quilt. I will take me years. I plan to just work on it here and there. I am having trouble finding the background fabric I want. I want a just barely of white. White on white pattern. It is all too expensive. I need so much I need to find a good sale.

peacequiltingnana 07-06-2011 06:20 AM

Most of us probably carry a bucket list around in our heads. The problem I'm having since joining this board is it keeps getting longer and I keep changing my mind about what I'm going to do next. I need another lifetime on this earth to get everything done!!!!

Nolee 07-06-2011 06:20 AM

I'm saving mine for eternity because I'll never EVER finish them all here, LOL, and I know we will quilt in eternity or it wouldn't be any fun!!!

This works for me. I'm 67 now and I sew almost everyday. My Gram had me sewing simple things when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Gram lived to be 81 and Mom lived almost to 81, so I'm thinking that just might be my expiration date, like on a carton of milk. Meanwhile I am quilting and sewing and crafting to my heart's content.

DITTO...and it changes once a week....

justme CA 07-06-2011 08:42 AM

It's great to have goals so a bucket list is just that hopes, wishes, wants and maybes. I just turned 85 and the list has changed every year. I am working on making queen sized quilts still but with out buying more fabrics...Oh, but once in awhile I need backings or accents or....or, or.!!!!

I've got kids your age and I don't quilt every day since I work additionally and just don't have that many hours in the day. My bucket will definately kick over before I see the bottom!! You at least have time on your side

happymrs 07-06-2011 09:37 AM

I don't have a list, just save whatever appeals to me at the time, & when I want to start something else, I do what's calling me the most. I hate lists, so this works for me, lol...

teacherbailey 07-06-2011 10:29 AM

I actually have two bucket lists....one for quilting and one for the other stuff.

Tweety2911 07-06-2011 12:05 PM

My list is too long!!:-)

babyboomerquilter 07-06-2011 12:07 PM

IBQUILTIN 07-06-2011 01:23 PM

I know I have more on my Bucket List than I can get done, so I must live a long long time and STOP adding to it

Funny I always thought of it as the more I put on my bucket list the longer I will have to live to finish it all LOL

It would help alot if I quit reading the Quilting Board -- I keep adding to the list after seeing wonderful quilts on here!!!

pab58 07-07-2011 02:44 PM

There are so many on my bucket list that I'll never be able to die!!!!

MomtoBostonTerriers 07-07-2011 02:51 PM

These responses have me laughing!

Last week I attended the funeral of my dearest aunt, who taught me to quilt. She was 91 when she died. A childhood friend of my aunt's was at the funeral, and the friend said she wasn't going to have the knee replacement surgery that her doctor recommended because she was only 2 years and 2 months away from the age her mother was when the mother died. I think my aunt's friend should take up quilting -- that would change her perspective, and she would "reset" her expiration date for several more decades.
