busy, busy getting things done! i've accomplished a few--more coming
 

so, i've been trying to 'wrap up' my holiday sewing- i managed to get 5 donation quilts done- the first 3 are 'Downy quilts for kids' quilts- the next 2 are for the Women's resource center
then the quilts i'm giving as gifts---been finishing up UFO's too---feeling pretty...motivated! :)

Wow you have been busy. I think that would be a year of projects for me. There are some lucky people out there.

All your quilts are very nice Colleen - what great donations!

You will make some folks very happy. Your quilts are beautiful. That would take me a long time to get that many done. Good job.

WOW!!! you really have been busy. I too have been finishing up "ufo's" that are have been hanging aroundish. Three of them have already headed to their new homes. one I am currently working on hand sewing the binding. have a small section left to finish and have two fabric cubes that I am working on one is done and the other needs more stuffing to be finished. Then there is my DD's quilt that needs about 16" of boarders and patterns to finish the top. I am happy for you. it is always exciting to finish a quilt and send it to its new home. kinda makes me wonder if that is just a little bit of how God feels when a baby is born.

That's a lot of recent quilting!I'm averaging less than a quilt a month here in what will undoubtedly be referred to within my family as Year One of the Addiction.
I love the scrappy quilts and the b/w/r (should we call these Newspaper Quilts?) but the blue ring quilt is so lovely and delicate in the choice of colors/prints. And it looks like you quilted big flowers with layers of petals.

How wonderful! Mercy, you are prolific! I like all of them, but my favorite of the bunch is the second-to-last. It looks like a traditional quilt "with a twist," and I always like that type of pattern.

thank you all for your compliments- the last quilt (blue & white) is a Tennessee Waltz from Elenor Burns-quilt in a day---and it took lots longer than a day!--but was kind of fun to make-
the next to the last was just using up some homespuns and scraps- i hand pieced the checkerboard squares during breaks at work- the homespun strips machine pieced pretty quickly- it is a very large queen-
i love the reference made to the black and white one---the newspaper clips---that is quite fitting- and i hadn't figured out a name for it yet- so may go in that direction-
the donation quilts have been delivered- now to finish the one on the quilt frame---and maybe get one or two of the others stacked under the machine quilted---i still have i think 5 or 6 tops waiting to be quilted---and 3 in the sewing room waiting to be finished- one of the ones waiting to be quilted is a ufo i started 10 years ago- i'm so happy i finally got it put together---another one is a 5 year old christmas quilt---finally put together----now to just get them quilted---if only i were in doing it---instead of here (socializing :) )my ufo's seem to grow almost equally to my stash! keeps me out of trouble ;)
