and about prints you absolutely love-------------buy a bolt if something really has a hold on you. It may not be available a year from now.

I know that Fabric Depot in Portland gives 40% off (no coupon necessary) whenever you buy a full bolt. I don't know whether they do this from the online store, but it's worth asking about. Their prices are already good, so 40% off is a lot.

I by bolts of good quality white and unbleached muslin from my local JoAnn's when I have a 50 % or 60% coupon. I know what I like to use frequently and that is what I get. My next purchase will be a bolt of the wider muslin so I do not have to piece the backing as frequently. It is a leap to lay out that much money, but what a pleasure it is to go to my stash and have what I need on hand and not need to zip off for those basics. A second benefit is that my scraps all match, rather than having a pile of white scraps that are all just slightly different when I want to use them for a secondary project.

I live 50 miles from the Illinois line. Basically, not on my way to anywhere, but might be an interesting day trip some day.

I grab them with coupons. There are some that I use over and over. Great to have handy for backings too

50 miles is close! My friends and I drive that far for lunch all the time. I wish I had a nice fabric store that close to me. Marhsall's is about 2 hours away and I go there when I need just a few yards. LOL.
I do 50 miles easily-----------drove 45 miles to learn to spin last Saturday. |
