Buying spree
Yesterday I had an appointment to get my car serviced at the dealership - since I live over 2 hrs away they offered me a free loaner car for the day - before I left for the appt - my hubby gave me cash (yes, the green stuff) - over $ 400 - to do with what I wanted - OMG - I think I need fabrics anonymous now - I had a great time - found 4 different quilt shops (including Joann's) and purchased fabric from each shop - it was like my own personal shop hop. After a couple of hours - I called and my car was still in the service bay so off I went again - it was a difficult job (the shopping) but I made it through. Wow, now I have a heap of new fabric and couple of new books, ruler and some notions- it felt like Christmas and my birthday all rolled up in one. (Of course, I did feel a little guilty for spending so much - but my hubby was happy that I spent it on myself). :o

OHhh, how fun is THAT?? And what an awesome hubby! How sweet of him to enable your addiction! LOL
Sounds like the perfect day!! A personal shop hop .. does it get any better?!!
He's a keeper to be sure. Reads like you had a blast.
What a wonderful time and husband!!!!!
Oh, I can't imagine all the pretties that $400 would buy! Lucky you!!!
Can I borrow your husband? lol I would be in heaven! I have about $120 worth of fabric (18 yds total) in my cart at fabric.com. Debating on rather to use the CC for it.
lol, did you pinch yourself to see if you were dreaming? Sounds lovely ;-)
What a great day you had! I don't think I've ever felt guilty spending money for things I want. I spent too much on things I didn't want; braces, summer camps, prom dresses, homecoming, cheerleading, sport teams, etc. LOL
Does he have a brother? LOL Sounds like a fun day. Glad you enjoyed yourself!
What an awesome day!
I am green with envy.
Good for you!! I think that we all need quilting therapy every once in a while.
I have to stop buying. I just bought two sewing machines in the last two weeks..didn't need them, but I wanted them. Hubby enables me. Now, I am through buying machines, I hope. Fabric is another story! |
Wonder what will happen if I show this to my DH....

Does your hubby have a single brother? Age...no problem...as long as I can get $ for fabric...
I'd like your hubby to meet my hubby! What a sweetheart!!

I think its pretty nice they gave you a loaner car!! They are such enablers lol. Glad you had a good time, and what a wonderful hubby to also engage in the enabling.
Sounds like the perfect day. And you know they say our families are the biggest enablers of our addictions! Hope I never get cured!
Good heavens, I might still be married had I had a husband like that. Lucky you!

That was so kind of your husband to do that. Almost unbelievably kind. Did he say why he did it? Did he feel bad that you had to take care of the car, or just thought you needed the break? Did he say? Whatever the reason, it was really sweet!
Wow, what a wonderful way to spend the day! Hug your DH for me and tell him he is awesome!
