I would never buy singer I don'y thing they are a GOOD machine
|
Go ahead and vent! We understand your pain in the butt...
Hope you feel better! |
I'm right there with you sweetie. Why should you have to pay shipping? That should be the dealer's job. Did you buy from a local dealer? If so, call him and bend his ear (unless he hangs up on you, that's not good), but they should stand behind the machines they sell and you should not have to pay, or at the very least, they should reimburse you for the shipping fees. Good Luck. Scream away girl, it always makes me feel better. I do usually try to warn my family when that happens, the cat just runs away. lol

I guess I will happily keep sewing on my 3 inexpense Singers.

I'm so happy I sent her back after test-driving from HSN. She ran like a tractor and had poor stitch quality. Ended up getting a lovely Baby Lock.
Sorry you have so much trouble. |
I'm sorry that you are having so many problems with your Singer. I can't believe a company wouldn't give you a new one. I have a Janome that I love. Actually, I have 2 of them. They definitely do the work. Good luck in dealing with the company.

Wow, $1200 for a piece of crap? You can vent for as long as you like. Guess I'll quit complaining about my $2.29 stale crackers.

It makes me sad that Singers aren't made with the quality that the old machines were. I have many antique/vintage Singers, they're wonderful machines. Around 1980 is when Singer started
producing the crappy machines; they only gotten worse through the years. You should've bought a Viking. Not being flippant, I used to sell the new Singers and Vikings. Unfortunately the new Singers aren't up to snuff. :( |
I actually have about 10 Singers. However, the newest one is approximately 25 years old and non-electronic. Love them all but I can also work on all of them myself except the youngest one. When that one goes again, I may try to persuade DH to let me use the shotgun method of disposal on her. That just sounds so satisfying; however, cannot complain as she survived 5 Army moves and still works. I say get a backup vintage Singer and try to get rid of the $1200 piece of crap.
