Does anyone have any idea if this trick worked or not with the flies? Mary

My grandmother tied cotton balls on the outside of her screen doors in the summer in North Florida when I was a kid. They had a dairy farm and lots of flies. I don't really know if it worked or not. I think the flies were afraid to sit on the screen and therefore didn't fly inside every time the door was opened. I about forgot about that until I read your post.

I will have to try this -- if DH doesn't think it is too crazy to go with. I hate the flies!!

thanks for the tip! Just hung one up on my front porch, now to see if it works!

Now to find something that easy and safe for the environment for mosquitoes.

will have to try this-too bad I did not know this when I lived in Australia. The Australia National salute is a hand wave in front of the face to move the flies along!!

Flies are pesky little things-wonder if this also works for no-see-'um's or midgies as some call them.

Anybody have a cure for mosquitos that buzz around my front yard swing? i hate to spray stuff on my skin but tired of being a pint low all summer long.

Joyce, You can box those "Ladies" and send them to me....I wish we had more in our area!

Be careful what you wish for. Most of the Ladybugs in MN have interbred w/ the Asian Ladybird Beetle which is more aggressive and bites humans, ask me I know.
