Most embroidery thread is 40wt. Bobbin thread is generally 60wt. When doing machine embroidery it is important to use 60wt. bobbin thread to avoid thread build-up when stitching out designs.
I never use 60wt. thread for piecing but I understand that many do with good results. :wink: |

I use it in the bobbin when I do machine embroidery. It is a little bit lighter than the embroidery threads.

My embroidery bobbin thread is 70-wt. This is thread that is on the spools. I don't know what weight is on my pre-wound bobbins ... it does not say.
