When I purchased my Singer 237 Fashion Mate, this came along with it. I really have no idea what it is or how to use it, and neither does my mom, who has been sewing for years. Anyone know what this is?

Looks like a buttonhole attachment, but I wouldn't know how to attach it. :cry:

I had a kenmore sewing maching that had something similiar, and it attached right to the pressure foot and the dial would adjust for the size of the button hole.

That is most definately at buttonhole maker, with different templates. It attaches very much like a walking foot, from behind the needle shaft. Check the singer web site for some info.
