That is a really cute pin cushion and the dish gives it weight. Cool.

This is made with a porcelain paint tray for the base. Circles of fabric are gathered into little balls & stuffed, then hot-glued into the wells.

This is the way I was thinking of putting fabric pincushions to collect them in my sewing room, this picture is not mine it is off of a blog. These aren't pincushions but I think pincushions would look cute done this way.

If you collected ones made out of fabric you could hang them on a cord on your sewing room wall by running a thread through them, I think that is what I am going to do.

Those are just way too cute! How can you pick just one favorite?

I love all the pin cushions, especially the owl...I only have 3.

I have 3 pincushions. One that I use, one that is packed for travel, one that clips on my wrist that I don't use. If I had more they would get given to Goodwill. Can't stand clutter. Glad you have them since you like them.

I have some more to post, I should be getting my micro SD card today, so I can take and download pics from my new camera. It won't download from the internal memory. The old one quit working and isn't worth repairing. {sigh}

Havplenty, Can you share your pattern for the sewing machine pincushion. I have a collection of small sewing machines (like trinket box size), and that machine pincushion would be perfect with me collection. Thanks. MargieLou

To those of use who say you don't use pincushions, just listen to my story. I always kept a pincushion at my sewing machine, but when I sewed in the living room or den, I just stuck my pins into the arm of the overstuffed chair or sofa, and thought nothing of it. One night my husband was reading in bed, and I was doing my hand sewing. Out of habit, I stuck my pins into the mattress. Before long, we both felt dampness under us. You guessed it, we were sleeping on a waterbed, and had to unmake the bed so we could patch the mattress and then remake the bed. Enough said. Never again. Now I almost always use a pincushion.

ARGH! I own 1 pincushion. It was made for me by a very sweet friend who has since died. Whenever I look at it I feel guilty because I think I should give it to her daughter or granddaughter. Otherwise, I use mechanics parts trays.
