I am making a queen-size quilt for my niece as a wedding gift. It will be the same colors of her bridle party, which are purple, teal, and yellow.
I will be using Rhonda's Clara Dugout Blocks to make the blocks that I need for the quilt. But not figured out which one to use yet or whether to use sashing between the blocks, and what color of fabric. I also need to figure out which one of the colors of fabric that are in the block to use as the boarder. Here are three different blocks that I made up on my EQ 6 program. Can you tell me which block you like the best. Here are three block using the three different colors: Clara Dugout Block Choice 1 Clara Dugout Block Choice 2 Clara Dugout Block Choice 3 |
I think I like 3 best.

I vote for #3.

2 or 3.
I vote for 3 also
IMO too much yellow in #1
I vote for #1! That's because I love yellow. :-)
Here's my vote for #1. I like yellow, and that one seems so happy and sunny.

#1
i like # 1 best- the contrast with the yellow placement adds spark and is a more balanced design (in mho)
the colors seem to flow better in block #3
I like #3
i is yellow, 2 is teal, I vote for 3 which seems in equal amts.
Are you wanting the blues or the yellow to be predominant? The yellow is dominant in #1 and the blues in #3. #2 just seems choppy to me. My personal choice is #3 because I like the calm blues with the yellow accent to spice things up.
I agree #3
My first choice would be #3 - #1 would be a second choice.
Number one, with a one inch light blue border then a larger border with the leaf fabric.

It's between 1 and 3. Love both of them.

3 for me!
#1 is my favorite
#3, yellow is an awfully strong color unless you absolutely love it.:) Good balance in #3.
block #2
1 and 3
#3 looks great to me.

I'm going against the majority and choosing #2. For me, in a whole quilt, #1 and #3 would be too much yellow and too bright. I think the yellow accent in #2 is just right. I would use both blues for borders, a 2 or 3 inch dark blue and a wider light blue.

I would like to see four blocks together - better yet 9 of them in a 3 x 3 setting -
then one can see what it will look like when the secondary design(s) emerge Then it would be easier for me to decide. |
like them all but I think three is more balance with th yellow but what do I know

Wonder what the blocks would look like with the light blue in the corners? I like #2. BrendaK

I vote for #3

I like number 3 the most. it gives the block a little more balance.
