They are too shaky for me...I have a wooden table that I use at the craft shows...it is the kind that you would pull a stool up to in a small kitchen.

my friend has one that's really sturdy wood top metal legs...but mine I barely let the kids use it for playing games on.

I use a banquet table, hard thick plastic top, got mine at Lowes. I have lots of room on either side of my machine.

Mine was a bit too shaky, but it is old so maybe the newer ones would be much more stable. ;)

I found a sewing cabinet on Craigslist for $80, and just saw another one for sale for $99. Originally I was going to build a table from plywood we have already, but after looking at the price for the lift hardware, the cabinet was cheaper!

Maybe you can find one near you, and then you don't have to use a rickety table.

I agree. I used a metal leg/composite top card table once and it bounced a lot. Then I found an old oak card table at an antique fair and it worked great. Sometimes I wish I still had that old table!

Depends on the card table. The sewing table made for my Singer Featherwieght is actually very similar to a wooden card table!
