Get a cheapie stud finder, pre drill holes smaller than the screws you intend to use,then with a little bit of measuring you can put holes in the back of your cabinet and anchor it to the wall so securely that even an earthquake wouldn't tumble it down.

So I had three scared cats in 'time out' shut up in the bathroom and one slightly mangled and twisted Christmas tree leaning against the wall in the corner, and one formal Christmas dinner of Crown Rib Roast served on Correlle ware 'prancing dolphin' plates and mismatched Tervis Tumblers instead of Crystal and pretty china....

Actually, you're right. Everyone got a kick out of being dressed up and drinking Chateau St. Michele Reserve from plastic tumblers. Not what I would recommend doing to savor a good wine and prime rib... but you're right. I love my kitties... even when they are 'bad'!

I bet your cats were so scared that they won't do it again. Between the tree and dinnerware coming down on them and you being angry with them, they probably won't go near the tree again.

Actually... I still have two that like to sit IN the tree on the branches. There are others that like to throw themselves on any low-flying ornaments. Naturally, of course. So yes, I now run 100lb test monofiliment from the trunk just below the angel topper out to the hooks in the wall .. on three sides (if the tree is in the corner). Much easier that way. Oh... and don't use real strung popcorn and cranberries as garlands on the tree if you have lots of cats.... <smile> ask me how I know..... lol!
