I bought some to make roll up drawing mats. I'm going to put a pocket on one side to hold a box of chalk, another pocket above that to hold a small microfiber cloth that I will put a buttonhole in so a short tie can be threaded through and tied. This way the cloth "eraser" won't get lost, but it can be detached to be washed. I'm going to add ties on the edges like my travel jewelry roll up bag. It can be rolled up and tied and the chalk and eraser cloth are tucked inside. I plan to give this with a baby gift for a mom who is having a second child so her older child will get a gift as well as the new baby.

I purchased mine from Nancy's Notions. I made two placemats for a dear friend's two granddaughters. have a new grand niece or nephew due in a week or so and plan to make a placemat as well as just a mini chalkboard for this new baby when old enough to use it. One definitely needs to be sure to avoid all possible chances of having to redo, as it definitely leaves needle holes. You should NOT put this fabric in the washing machine.

Do most major fabric shops carry this? I'd like to try it too. Looks like so much fun.

I have heard about this fabric, it would probably make a great quiet time quilt for little ones.
