Rag Doll, deuces wild, angel, by Aerosmith.
Food on the table, mountain music, by Alabama
Wind beneath my wings, Chapel of love, the Rose, by Bette Midler

I would make a block or quilt I wanted and then find a song to match. I love the website paperprincess provided. Many ideas popped into my head. I would not do all that work for something I didn't like or couldn't use. That's why I would do one I wanted first and then choose the song. Call me lazy and selfish!

OK, it is time to clear this up, especially if one is going to make a quilt of this. Is the flying people eater, the color purple? Or is this a flying people eater (of unspecified color) that eats purple people?

But I must say the above suggestion of flying purple people eater put an instant visual in my head that made me giggle.[/QUOTE]

What about a tumbler, and call it Red Solo Cup

sewingsuz 04-29-2014 08:22 PM

About this one. A White sportscoat and a Pink Carnation. How much is that doggie in the window.

Now these two songs really date me. I remember when my younger first cousin's favorite song was "How Much Is That Doggie In The window", she was only two. "A White Sportscoat and a Pink Carnation by Marty Robbins was one of my mother's favorite songs.

I have always thought that the people eater was the color purple or in my mind anyway.

Re: all the purple people eater questions. Here are the lyrics:

"I said Mr Purple People Eater what's your line?
He said eating purple people and it sure is fine
But that's not the reason that I came to land
I wanna get a job in a rock 'n roll band"

So I guess in theory he could be any color you want, but I've always thought of him as being purple.

I guess it pays to read the posts to the end. You may learn something new. Not very important, but interesting.

I like Carole King's "Our House" Our house is a very very very fine house. With 2 cats in the yard, life used to be so hard. Now everything is easy cause of you........

"Love Letters in the Sand" also gives lots of block possibilities.

This is a fun challenge.

How about;
"I'll give you a daisy a day dear".by Hank Snow.o
"How much is that doggy in the window?"
"Summertime and the living is easy"
"True Colours"
"There ain't nobody here but us chickens"
Okay I could go on but I'll stop know. what a fun idea!

What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong could be very dynamic.

I have fabric with clock faces on it I have been saving to do Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle. There are lots of Jar and bottle patterns on line. There is also a line in it about a box full of wishes, I'm still working on that.

I just think this idea based on a song would make a great theme for a challenge block for a quilt show.
