So how are the flowers attached to the bag..?

Love your bag; very creative and eye-catching. The little bow adds just that "special touch" that is needed where you have it. A good idea for a challenge!Mariah

Love your bag, a tutorial of the origami flowers would be nice. I vote for big buttons where you have the bow.
|
Doesn't need anything more! Not even the bow! That is just lovely!
|
Beautiful bag.

This is a reusable shopping bag, with printing on both sides. Our group was challenged to cover the printing, thereby decorating the bag. It is somewhat of a contest. This is what I came up with; the little bow is just being auditioned to see how it would look. The plan would be to place a little bow at the base of the handles.
Still, it feels like it needs a little something more. Any suggestions? |
That's a good idea to cover up commercial advertising and make something very attractive and useful. I found a u-tube tutorial that's easy to follow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNfVUR9-RRo

I hit the post button too soon. Thanks for sharing your project with us. I had not seen this before.

I would put a contrasting color of trim or baby ric rac around athe edges of flower design

I absolutely love the idea and your work. I would skip the bow and put a darker pink border around the work. Perhaps that would make it feel more finished.
How did you attach the work to the bag? |
Me too! I vote for a tute! I love the diamonds.

Love the bag. Nothing more needed.

I'd like it without the bow. I'd do 1 line of hand quilting 1/4 inch from edges in a coordinating color to set it off. Just my opinion.

Her tutorial is under the tutorial section

My first thought was buttons instead of bows, and I see that many others thought the same! I love your bag!
|
Nice! I love the colors, too. Now don't forget to take it in the store when you go shopping!!
|
I don't care for the bows at all but love your design for the "body" of the bag. Someone suggested yellow buttons at each handle base and someone else said "chunky" buttons. I like both of those ideas a lot. Do you get to keep your own or will you be exchanging with another member? If so, whoever gets yours will be lucky.

The diamond pattern is something like origami. If there is any interest, I could create a tutorial. Y'all just let me know.

This is really nice. I like it. Thanks for sharing.

I think giant yellow buttons would look better than the little bows. The bows don't really add much and they don't really tie in to your really cool folded hexes.

I also love the bag challenge.. beautiful block .. and Jan.. I work for a Kroger store ! I think that would be so much
fun to do that !! (what the really need, is a way to make them stand up ! LOl ) |
I love the folded diamonds. I'd love to see how they are made. How about doing a tutorial?
|
I was thinking that a wide rick rack in yellow or pink all the way around the top might look nice.
They make some fuzzy wide rick rack..... called Jumbo Chenille Carole |
Decorating a shopping bag
It is beautiful . The only thing I would have changed is to make the star in the middle of brighter fabric. What a great'
idea and your stars are perfect. Very nice. |

Great job! Here's what I did with some bags. Used my orphan blocks & hot glue. The kitty one was used as a carry on when I went to China to see my DGK last Oct.
|
If you are actually use them for groceries I would not do much more as they will get hard ware. If only occasional use I would as some vines and leaves in the negative areas. Great idea
