Changed my rotary cutter blades
I know this'll surprise you all. I was getting ready to cut flannel squares this morning for a queen sized flannel comforter......I actually put in a new blade...amazing what a difference it made...I put that off waaaaay too long
each time i do that, it's like cutting butter. sooooo smooth. you'd think I would change the blade more often!
I just changed blades too and was amazed at how easy cutting became!
i just did the same... i had my cutter at a remote quilting gathering and i was really struggling and didn't have replacement blades with me... it's like night and day now.
I do the same thing. I don't realize how dull the blade is until I put a new one in.
I ALWAYS wonder why I waited so long to replace the blade. I guess I have too much of my Granny in me. She lived through the depression and saved EVERYTHING! When she passed I bet we threw away 100 pounds of "butterware." You know what I mean: Cool Whip containers, sour cream containers, spreadable margarine containers, etc. Sometimes I will debate throwing something away thinking I can find a use for it and think of her. Then I laugh at myself and remember cleaning out her house and toss the item in my hand. Sorry for going off on a tangent, but I just smiled again thinking of Granny and her ways. Thanks for the reminder.

I changed the blade in my rotary cutter, as well, but the problem is that the guard on it is now inoperative -- I've got to look at it closely -- I may not have put it together right. It cuts very well, but without the guard, it's very dangerous, and I've had more than one collision with a rotary cutter. It's great to be back online again -- we've been out of internet service for a week + - that's awful!

Count me in this same group!! :D Putting in a new blade is such a treat! smooth and easy!
It's time I changed mine. I don't know why I keep holding off:)

In between two carpel tunnel surgeries and had to get our guild challenge done sooooo DH to the rescue. I could piece but could not apply any pressure and cut. Only trouble was he had never used a rotary cutter before. After SEVERAL poor cuts, I changed the blade and WaLa! Much better! I told him he was really getting better (didn't mention the new blade really helped!).
