Before I go on the quilting board I always tell myself that I will only stay on for a little bit of time as I have soooooo many things to do. I tell myslef, I will only answer a few questions, comment on a few quilt pictures but welcome all the newbies. Well this is what I intend to do but find myself on the board sometimes for 2 hours or more.
Are you in charge of your time or are we all influenced and held captive by our love of quilting.

isnthatodd 07-05-2010 03:39 PM

I spend more time here than I plan to.

bj 07-05-2010 03:47 PM

I spend a lot of time by myself, when DH is in Lubbock tending to business there. I'm also not a big fan of tv. So, I spend a lot of time on the board looking at stuff and reading posts. However, I just downloaded Kindle for PC's and bought a couple of Earlene Fowler books, so now I'll have to choose. Oh My! :-D

craftybear 07-05-2010 03:48 PM

it seems like we spend alot of time on this site, wonderful site!

thimblebug6000 07-05-2010 03:51 PM

I'm kind of "regimented" that way....I'll put the kitchen timer on so I KNOW it's time (of course I have a "Noah edition computer"..... I have to admit it's wonderful to see pictures of everyone's quilting journey though.

cjomomma 07-05-2010 03:52 PM

I am pretty proud of myself today cause I finally managed to stay off the QB for most of the day and most of the weekend.

kwiltkrazy 07-05-2010 04:04 PM

I always spend more time on here than I intend.

mlaceruby 07-05-2010 04:06 PM

Hopelessly hooked!

Joeysnana 07-05-2010 04:08 PM

If I hadn't stumbled upon this board, I would never have gotten back into quilting after a 20-year hiatus!! Any time I spend on here is a learning experience!!

Jingle 07-05-2010 04:10 PM

I usually stay up way to late on this board and get up early. Once in a while I will take a nap. I'm trying to make lots of quilts, but, don't work on them during the evening since I retired a month ago. I don't get on the board during the day.

I stayed off it for most of the day!

Oh,wait, that was because I was at work all day!

Now, I'm trying to catch up on what everyone wrote, all the newbies, breakfast, etc.

I try to control my time, then someone posts something I just HAVE to read and even comment on, and so it goes.

Great place to be with lots of great friends!

Missed you too!

Not even started. Unless you consider I ordered a piece of fabric today that I may use in it! (Don't count on a 'real' king size, you know I work in miniatures. )

Besides I'm working on so much other stuff, I've not touched my machine or any fabric in nearly a week! I'm having withdrawals!

franie 07-05-2010 05:08 PM

I spend far too much time here. But I love it!

dkabasketlady 07-05-2010 05:24 PM

I'm soooooooo hopelessly addicted to this board. I'm on first thing in the morning and later on the evening almost every day. I don't get as much sewing done as I used to before I found this wonderful site, but I'm not complaining.

JanetM 07-05-2010 05:45 PM

My husband just walked in and said "You are really hooked on that board, aren't you!"

Yep...I'm hooked! But I have learned so much!
I find that my conversations are frequently sprinkled with the words, "my friends on the quilting board say..."
I really do look to you all as my friends. You are all so kind, generous and helpful!

When I'm not here I'm worried about what I'm missing hehe

mrspete 07-05-2010 07:03 PM

I do the same thing, nursie.
Blessings,

Some days I allow myself 10 posts to read then I get off and get something done. I do drop in while I'm having lunch and to wind down to go to sleep. And then there are the days that the board calls me from the other end of the house...and...........

deedum 07-05-2010 07:09 PM

I do sometimes think I need to get off of here and go to my sewing room, at the same time I learn soooooooooo much! Hopefully, I can help someone else too! I get inspired here to finish a project or get motivated to try a new project! Just a pretty cool board and wonderful people! It has become part of my daily routine! We got to enjoy somethings in life!!!

erstan947 07-05-2010 07:10 PM

I think my husband thinks I have an online lover. HA! I would rather lust after all your quilts!

CarrieAnne 07-05-2010 07:10 PM

I tried to stay off alot today too. HAD to clean, the house is SO messy!

littlehud 07-05-2010 07:24 PM

I'm always here longer than I expect to be. It's just so much fun here.

wvdek 07-05-2010 07:27 PM

"Emailing it", there is an idea! I may have to - I don't have Marsye's address. I could send it to Marshall's Dry Goods - think they know her enough to deliver it to her?

granniegg 07-06-2010 04:34 AM

Isn't Earlene Fowler the best? Like being with a balance group of friends and the stories are murder mysteries, for goodness sakes. And her faith based references are so welcomed. Which ones are you reading?

mrs. fitz 07-06-2010 06:33 AM

I don't spend a lot of time at any one time but I'm on here for a few minutes many times during the day (BTW thanks to all who send recipes which are on the digest; I've gotten some keepers). Funny thing, the friend who first told me about this board doesn't read it at all. There are always pictures to enjoy, something to learn, and long-distance quilters to keep up with. It's a valued part of my quilting life.

Glenda Kay 07-06-2010 07:00 AM

I have fibromyalgia & arthritis which is compounded by the Arimidex I take to help keep my breast cancer from coming back so it takes me a while to get going in the a.m. I usually get on here while I have my morning cup of coffee (or two) & then I'm usually awake enough to start moving. Don't mean to complain though because when I got found I had cancer I didn't know if I would still be here. Love this site. I've learned so much from you guys! Really glad I found this site.

sueisallaboutquilts 07-06-2010 07:09 AM

Glenda Kay- I am SO GLAD you are here! You can complain all you want even though I didn't think you were at all!! You conquered the biggie and that's all that matters. HUGS, Sue

I am a captive.

Marilyn1 07-06-2010 07:44 AM

I get stuck like glue. Love to see what others are doing and the great ideas we can all share.

Conniequilts 07-06-2010 08:01 AM

I was going to post a similar topic today. Glad I did not.

I was going to ask if anyone has ever been late getting somewhere because they could not get off the board.

Sometimes I have my laptop open while I am sewing and peek at what is new. I always am on while eating breakfast. Once I get to work, I have it open all day and peek regularly. Summer is slow for me so am here quite a bit.

Granny B 07-06-2010 09:38 AM

I wouldn't be on here so long if I didn't read all the comments. This site is addictive!
