I do charity quilts for Quilts for Comfort we make quilts for leukemia patients who receive a bone marrow transplant we service one hospital in NJ, PA and DE we donate to the hospitals who do the bone marrow transplant. Our founder is a leukemia survivor.

My group makes quilts of all sizes for the local women's shelter. The women and children each get to take a quilt of choice to use and to keep when they leave.

My friends and I have an informal group, we love to make quilts and sew. We have decided to make our local domestic violence shelter our project. We make children and baby quilts, tote bags for the moms that can double as diaper bags. We also make little stuffed bears out of fleece, facial features are hand embroidered on. We also make burp cloths and bibs. A few rare time we hemmed and patched up some clothing. Last year, 3 days before Christmas a mom and her premie were discharged from the hospital via ambulance to he shelter. This broke our hearts but we knew this was her only option other than going back to her abuser. We contacted everyone we know and got donations of premie diapers, clothing for the baby and of course toys for 56 children in the shelter. Since then out group has grown and so has the generosity of the community.

Project Linus is a local charity. All donations are handled locally and all blankets/quilts are distributed locally. Locally, there are several local Project Linus groups that cover two counties, at the most.

I just gave 3 boxes of fabric to Project Linus which is a wonderful organization. They make charity or donation quilts to many different places such as hospitals, woman's shelter and the shelter for homeless. I know there are others that they donate quilts to but can't think of them now. Just know that Project Linus is one of my favorite places to donate fabric to.

I'm a Project Linus and Quilts of Valor quilter. Leftover scraps of fabric and batting are used to stuff dog beds for my local Second Chance Animal Rescue group. Project Linus covers many of the other charities mentioned above (quilts of comfort, etc).

I donate quilt blocks to Covered in Love who headquarters out of Texas and medical face masks to It's My Heart New England from Massachusetts.

I've mentioned this before on this site, but my group makes quilts for the patients of the organ transplant unit of a local hospital. Sometimes, in the case of kidney transplants, the donor is also given a quilt.

We also supply a children's home where kids of all ages in crisis will stay for 3 months. They get to keep and take their special quilt with them when they leave the home.

Ours is a church group, so we also support members in the church who have a need, such as starting chemotherapy or becoming permanently homebound.
