I just got a few yards of this. I think it's just too cute. I'm making my daughters some pencil cases and i-pod wallets so they can use fabric sharpies and color them in themselves. That way, it can be their own. :) I don't think I've ever been this excited over any fabric I've gotten before....lol.

I found someone selling it online. It was $10 a yard. It's by Michael Miller so it shouldn't be to hard to find. I'd check etsy first to see if someone had it there. :)

Oh I will. I can't wait to see how the kids color them. :)

Thank you I already looked but had no luck with that print!

How pretty! Reminds me of my high school days! :)

It looks like great fun for the kids. I learned from a friend recently that you can use ordinary Crayolas on fabric and then iron it between layers of paper towels to get the wax out. It goes through the wash surprisingly well. The kids might find that more manageable than the pens because they don't bleed and there are more colors. If it were to fade a little after many washings, they could have the pleasure of coloring it again. It's a good idea to stabilize the the fabric with freezer paper on the back before doing the coloring to keep it from puckering under the force of the crayon. If the design is small, you'll want to sharpen the crayons often. Here's an example someone posted showing a border design she is doing with crayons and embroidery: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t195717.html

Really cute fabric. Great for the kids stuff. I think letting them color it is a wonderful idea.

Great idea for how you're using it. And the coloring the items themselves will tickle them to death!

Why not just buy the crayola fabric crayons? The colors last a loooooooooong time.

Sewfine 08-18-2012 04:41 AM

Oh! what pretty fabric. The colors will not wash away with fabric sharpies...where did you purchase the fabric...and where do you purchase the sharpies? Thanks for sharing.

llweezie 08-18-2012 06:06 AM

Where did you find this, is it a Kauffman or what? I want some to make those little makeup bags, for the grandaughters, it would also look good with hot pink and zebra fabric mixed in... I love it...

Favorite Fabrics 08-18-2012 06:24 AM

You're right, it is cute and begs to be colored in.

I bought a large assortment of Sharpies at OfficeMax a few years back. You might have luck there - or at other office supply stores, especially now with all the back-to-school shopping.

psailer 08-18-2012 06:53 AM

It really is cute... and will be so much fun for them.. enjoy.... thanks for sharing

Great fabric and a great idea for the kids to colour in their own. I can see everyone on QB madly typing Michael Miller black and white fabric into Google.:D

My thought exactly. It would look so cute on the backing when it was done.

debbieoh 08-18-2012 02:36 PM

Where did you find it? I see why you're so excited. I want some

I found it from someone on facebook. You can search for it on etsy and get it cheaper than what I did. I did an umpulse buy and never even thought to check anywhere else. Search for Michael Miller peace, you will get a few different choices. It comes in red also.

You can use any old sharpie but it will bleed if you put alcohol on it(I did a little sharpie art to find that out) and they have the fabric sharpies at Walmart(I don't know where else they would have them, we don't have alot of stores here). They will not bleed at all.

debbieoh 08-18-2012 07:14 PM

Thanks for the info. My GD would Love a quilt made with it. Now off to do a search

Heylure 08-19-2012 08:04 PM

I just found it on eBay & amazon. It's called Always Peace by Michael Miller. Happy hunting.
