Chefs Need Help
1 Attachment(s)
I always come to this site for the best advice and encouragement. My dd is going to a wedding in Texas of a friend she went to pastry school with. Her friend is marrying a chef, so I had this Loralie fabric for awhile now. But.....I'm stuck with the design. After adding multiple borders with food related fabrics, it looks too geometric to me. I need advice on what to add next. I have more "yummy" fabrics. I also would like to add a red and white check border, like a table cloth. The backing will be black and white. Any advice will be helpful. TIA.

INHO, it would be good to break up the linear format with something like flying geese.

I might look at pieced or paper pieced blocks of stacked bowls, coffee cups etc. to add in blocks around the central portion you have pieced.

How about using 4-corner-snowballed blocks to create round "plates" of the foods you have fabric for? These could be used in a border OR the body of the quilt.

Don't have any ideas, but would love to see the finished quit. BrendaK

Nice fabric, and lots of great ideas for you. :)

I love Jan's idea of the plates that would be very cute. Hope you show us the completed quilt.

it definitely needs something to break it up. also, some red needs to be added towards the outside, imho

Would a piano border work at all??
