Thankyou so much :D . I hope everybody enjoys them. I wish you and yours all the best over these coming holidays. Welcome to all the new people on the board, it's a fun place to be, lots to see and do :P .

Dear Frankie all the patterns are on page one of this thread, also a download for paper piecing directions if you wish. All you need to do is click on the word download next to the pattern you want, a box will open, click on save, then you can browse your computer and select a folder where you wish to save the pattern to. Hope this helps :D .

Hi, Shelly these are beautiful , but I cant seem to download them I click on download and nothing happens. Helen

ShellyQ 12-18-2007 05:36 PM

Hi Helen
You need to hold the mouse cursor right on the word "download" it should change to an orange colour, then click. I got caught like that the first time I tried to download some thing :P . If it still dosen't work send me a private message and I'll see if I can help

simosap 12-18-2007 11:20 PM

I don't know how to download the instrudtions. Can someone please help me? I'd love to make them for next Christmas.

Hi Joanie, If you have done paper piecing once, you are hooked. It is the most fun, easy way to piece. I started with a set of six glass coasters and am now up to quilts. I love puzzles and paper piecing sure fits the bill. Marion in Florida

Thank you so much. These are wonderful. I hope to make them after Christmas for my tree next year.

Thank you Shelly!!

Tiffany 12-19-2007 05:44 AM

Retired: I was having a problem downloading the pattern also, until I realized I was clicking on the photo and not directly on the word 'download'. Perhaps you are doing the same thing and clicking where you expect a box to be instead of directly on the word. Hope this helps!!

I think I'm going to head downstairs and make a few of these ornaments for friends and family for Christmas. It seems a perfect way to use up some of my fabric scraps. Thank you again Shelly!!

reva 12-19-2007 05:46 AM

when I click on download nothing happens - how can I get the patterns - love them - thanks so much for sharing!!!

Retired 12-19-2007 05:51 AM

Thanks for trying to help me.
I clicked on where it said download (on the icon) and nothing happened. I tried on several different ones of the icons but nothing happened at all. I know I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what.

mary705 12-19-2007 06:02 AM

If you click on the word download on the right, it should bring up a box for you. I just went back to the first page and it is working.

reva 12-19-2007 06:06 AM

I was able to download all of them!! Thanks again!!! I can't wait to get started on them!!

mary705 12-19-2007 06:18 AM

WTG, have fun

Retired 12-19-2007 07:10 AM

Success...
I should have clicked on the word download. I got them all.
Thanks Shelley for posting these and thank you everyone else for helping this old lady. (70 years young and just starting to learn to quilt)

reva 12-19-2007 07:14 AM

It's never too late to learn something new!!! Especially when it's quilting!! Have fun learning!!

Fabraholic 12-19-2007 09:58 AM

Hello, All: I just joined when I saw your Christmas patterns. I agree with the others - would like to download them and use for next year. Hopefully doing some all year long-the everlasting New Year's resolution. Like the others, I can't get it to download so will try again. So if anyone else has been able to download these patterns please let me know what you did.

New kid on the block

ShellyQ 12-19-2007 10:26 AM

Hi Folks, Retired & Reva: glad you got it sorted, there is usually some round to help, we're a pretty friendly bunch on here like that :D .

Fabraholic: Instead of clicking on the Icon you actually need to click on the word "download" The word will change colour when you have the mouse cursor in the right place. Don't worry, I did exactly the same thing when I first tried to down load something. If that's not the problem please let me know, we'll see what we can do to help. Welcome to the board, do have a good look round there's heaps to see and do, check out our Block of the month :P . You can find all the different sections by going to the main page.

Have a Merry Christmas and I hope we'll all have a chance to get to know each other better in the new year :D

Fabraholic 12-20-2007 09:41 AM

Hello, Shelly. Thank you, I did get it after realizing I needed to click the word not the icon. SMACK! 5 fingers to my forehead. I'm excited to try them.

kitin39 12-20-2007 11:04 AM

:(Love you ornaments
can not download the pattern

mary705 12-20-2007 04:09 PM

keep trying, it does work

Fabraholic 12-20-2007 05:37 PM

Hi. Did you try clicking on the word download? Like you at first I couldn't figure it out either, but with help from ShellyQ and my wits working, it came out just fine. Good Luck

kitin39 12-22-2007 06:21 AM

 your instructions printed out fine, buttttttttt I still can not print out your pattern on any of your ornaments. What am I doing wrong?

ShellyQ 12-22-2007 01:00 PM

Dear Kitin, It's hard to tell without more info, but I'll try and help where I can. Have you got the patterns downloaded to your computer ok? If you printed out the instuctions that means you have an Adobe reader, so that's not the prob. Each patt has to be downloaded seperately. If you are still having problems Send me a private message and I'll see what I can do to help :-) . To send a PM just click on my name next this posting. A box will open, then click on the icon that has PM on it.

ShellyQ:
I just found this thread with all your ornaments...THANK YOU! It is so nice of you to share your creative work and patterns with all of us. With Christmas now over, I'll have the entire year to work on some of these for next year. My sister started a tradition in her home when her children were babies to get them a new ornament each year...when they grew up and got married they took their ornaments with them so when we went to her home this Christmas for dinner I noticed her Christmas tree was a bit shy of decorations Her granddaughter had helped them decorate the tree and all the ornaments were on eye level for a 4 year old! It was very cute.  I think I'll make some spectacular ornaments for DS for next year. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Dear ShellyQ,
You are a very talented quilter. I have only been quilting a few years but spread my time between golf and quilting. The tree decorations are great. I downloaded the design, but where do I go from there. Is this paper piecing? Do you have more directions for making these. Also I joined the Flying Geese Quilt Guild in Fallston, Maryland, and I wonder how you would feel if I suggested that we make these as a Christmas project for 2008?
Maybe one day, I will be able to share something I have made.

Thank you,
Barbara

ShellyQ 03-23-2008 12:40 PM

Hi Barbara
Sorry I haven't been back to you on this, I haven't been the best, so I haven't been around for a while. I'm so touched that you like them :D , there is a download in among the patterns, of foundation piecing instructions for these, on the first page of this thread. I haven't given cutting instructions, as that really depends on how experianced you are at foundation piecing. You don't need to have accurately cut pieces for this method, just make sure they are plenty big enough :P , you trim off any excess after you have sewn the seam. As for using the patterns at you guild for a project, I am very flattered that you are considering using them and have no problem with that, all I ask is that you would give credit to the designer. I hope that has helped some, if not, please clarify what the problem is and I will do the best I can to help

Cheers ShellyQ

Thank you sew much, they're beautiful. Thanks for the pattens too.
Love the fabric, so festive.

Jenny3244 07-15-2008 10:21 AM

Don't know how I missed this post last November....! But, perfect timing. My guild has a show in September and it's theme is Christmas. We are to make ornaments for trees and then we will donate them to a womans shelter for Christmas this year . Can't wait to make them tonight. Thanks so much for sharing! (I need to keep going back thru my emails to see what else I missed) What a nice surprise

barbsbus 07-15-2008 10:57 AM

What a nice idea. Thank you for the patterns. Nice to have something a little different to make for Christmas gifts.
