Check out Quilters Cache for blocks you might like, or McCall's quilt web for free patterns, also fabric mfg's web sites have great free patterns. As stated by another, use Christmas fabrics in reds and greens. Have fun with the process. You're wonderful to take it on.

I think this is a lovely and easy Christmas quilt pattern. Look up Nine-Patch Christmas Scrap by Connie Kauffman. Its free on Free Patterns.com or just google it. Hope you like it.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful quilt possiblities. I will be filing them for future use. I did find an easy pattern called Peppermint Candies in a magazine. It is made up of 2 blocks, pinwheel and shoofly. I bought fabric today and hope to get it started soon. I will post pictures when I get the top done. Thanks again.

Thanks, ladies. I checked out the Old Ladies quilt patterns and the 10 min. blocks. I must say the 10 min. blocks are fascinating. I am going to see what Christmas fabrics I can find today and maybe that will inspire me. LOL (Guess I'm just not ready to think about Christmas already).

alfosa121,
I love Eleanor Burns' patterns. They are very user friendly. I think the one you refer to is the "Tossed Nine Patch". It is very easy and fun to do. |
I just finished Moda's basicgrey Jovial quilt. It was their Christmas quilt pattern this year. The size is 74"x74" but I am sure you could make it as big as you wish. It is a fun quilt with dimension all of the place. A great scrap quilt if you wish. I would be more than happy to share the pattern with you. I wish I could attach a picture but I have not figured that out yet!

Has anyone thought of a Sunbonnet Sue quilt? Make her dress out of Christmas fabric and her bonnet out of a coordinated solid or batik. Surely a few of the group knows applique.
