If I didn't already have them, I would put a set of Slidelock Rulers on my list. I use both sizes all the time when cutting fabric. Aside from holding the fabric in place, I feel safer using them because my left hand is away from my rotary cutter blad. https://www.quiltersslidelock.com/
Edit: Mine are the lighted edge; figure it helps me see the edge better. I rarely use the ruler, though. |

I love my Zirkel magnetic pin cushion. Someone highly recommended it. I just take my pins out as I sew and toss them at the pin cushion. They all land on it with the heads pointing out. I also bought me some nice new pins. I didn't realizze how dull my pins were.
