Cleaning cutting matt after using June Tailor Quilt Basting Spray
 

I couldn't find how to clean my cutting matt after getting June Tailor quilt basting spray on it. Water doesn't take it off. I got my husband's hand cleaner, you know like goop off but generic brand pictured here and I wiped it on and it took a lot of the goop off. At least I can use it now. I wrote to the company and asked what to use. Will post later. Nothing on the internet how to clean or the product can. Not sure where we bought it maybe Harbor Freight. It helped lot. Matt wasn't usable with the overspray I got around the edges.

Is June Tailor's basting spray not a temporary spray?
If so, it should wash off your mat with some soap and water ... and a wee bit of elbow grease! :)

I wipe mine down with alcohol swabs.

I wipe mine down with 70% alcohol (Walmart in the pharmacy section) poured on a squares of quilt batting until the mat looks clean.

I have used a quilt basting spray that would not wash out of a sheet that I used under the quilt, it was either the June Taylor or Dritz brand. Not sure why it wouldn't wash out.

Was your board still sticky after using the cleaner?

I used just a bit or soap on a soft cloth and wiped dry.....cleaned it just fine

I would use goo gone then wipe with alcohol.

Helmar HR Zero Adhesive Remover is a spray specifically made to remove adhesive residue from quilt sprays, adhesives, stickers, tapes and labels. I use it all the time to clean my embroidery hoops after I have used a spray to attach fabric to the stabilizer in the hoop. It works fast, leaves no oily residue and is citrus scented.

The best thing I've found to remove any kind of glue residue including basting spray is WD40. Spray on, let sit a minute, then wipe off. WD40 leaves an oily feel, so after using I clean the mat or whatever with Dawn dish detergent.

The key is to get it off immediately. The longer it sits, the harder it gets to remove. I used Goo Gone also and it was a challenge. Thanks for the tip. (Although I now put a king-sized sheet over the area so I don't get basting spray on anything)
