Mr. Clean Magic Eraser always works on my iron.

I agree. Magic Eraser works for many cleaning jobs.

It your iron has a teflon coating you don't want to use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I have used the iron cleaner that comes in a tube, it worked great but was a bear to get out of the little holes. I like the Mr. Clean but the iron has to be cold. Once you have your iron clean the best way to keep it that way is keep a used dryer sheet on your ironing board and spritzer it with water from time to time and run your iron over it. The starch doesn't build up and it's a very easy thing to do. A friend of mine thought I was crazy at first but then when she saw how clean my iron stays she is doing it now.
