Love your journal cover. My guild was taught this by a member who is a long arm quilter and she was making several for a lady who is or was writing a book. Aside from the aloe vera (which we didn't use), we used a fabric medium (I think or something she had us put on that was from the Dharma company and made it slightly stiff) so that it was washable. Does the aloe vera make it washable?

Drawings using Derwent Inktense pencils are permanent after using aloe vera gel or fabric medium and drying, but wait for 24 hours to wash it.

Drawings using Derwent watercolor pencils are semi-permanent after using aloe vera gel and heat setting (will fade over time) and permanent after using fabric medium.

If anyone knows anything different than this, please post. I'm still learning.

Have you ever used fabric medium before using the colors? I'm not sure how this sequence works...draw on when wet or dry??? I haven't tried it.

Before, after, doing layers, wet and dry, YES! Experiment- they each give a different look and intensity.
