Oh my gosh!!!! It is really beautiful! I wondered how those are done. I hope I see a tutorial coming on this. Here is project I want to add to my to do list. I need to win the lottery so I can retire and have lots more fun. I guess I need to start buying lottery tickets.

I don't have any "time" with this kind of project to be able to answer your first question. However, direct light will fade any fabric.

If it is an art quilt, you would not expect it to be washed.

If it will be washed, use Inktense pencils which are permanent. The watercolor can be made permanent with fabric medium.

Dick Blick and Michaels carry the Derwent watercolor and Inktense pencils (see prior posts).

I really love this. I can see my next purchase will be some of these pencils. Thanks so very much for explaining what you used and how you did it.

Thank you so much for describing your process. I use Inktense pencils, too, and didn't know you had to add aloe vera to activate them. Your work is lovely.

I totally echo this! Everyone could bring their own supplies, and some fabric to practice on, and just experiment together. You don't have to wait hours for the fabric medium to dry- I've put a light fabric over it and dried it with an iron if I was in a hurry, but if you don't soak it heavy, the fabric medium will be dry on it's own in 10 minutes.

The only thing I will say that is different from what was mentioned before is that I have washed my project immediately after finishing it, and heat setting the fabric medium so the project was fully dry, and the none of the color washed away. With other set methods, it may need 24 hours.

WOW that is breathtaking.You did a great job. Do you have to heat set it after you are done.
