I love Aurifil, but for the price difference, Connection Threads is usually good enough for me. CT may be a little lintier than Aurifil. They have lots of great colors, and last time I ordered shipping was free with $50 purchase.

I love their thread, it's very good quality and comes in tons of great colors. Cheaper than going to Joann's for half price thread. And, if you go together with friends or other quilters you get free shipping with any order of $50 or more. That's what we always do.

Has anyone used this with a Tin Lizzie?
|
I've been using their threads about 7 yrs, have many of the sets and love the thread. Lots of color choices, and you can't beat the price. The company is wonderful to work with. They are always eager to help with any questions or concerns, great customer service.
Mostly I use it for piecing, on my fabric postcards that I make. I do have other brands Altho I do only use Superiors Bottom Line thread in my bobbins, while using Essential as a top thread. |
Just want to mention ... I think people who complain of 'fuzz' forget that fabrics also create lots of fuzz, which usually gets blamed on the threads.
As I mentioned, since I use Superior Bottom Line in the bobbin, my bobbin area doesn't get much fuzz, but I can usually tell by the color that the fuzz I do see is from the fabric I am using. |
Good point. I always blamed the thread (except when I sew with fleece) for lint. Fleece is nasty to machine. If I did a lot of fleece sewing, I think I would buy a cheaper machine.

I like the thread, love the price, and my old Bernina 910 does fine with this thread, though it has sewn well with any thread I've ever tried in it.
|
I love their thread and fabric also. Great prices and they are always getting in new quilt books. Free shipping on orders over $50.00 and its easy to spend 50 bucks there
