Connecting Threads Fabric

Hi all,

I was hoping to get your opinion on Connecting Thread fabric. It seems very reasonably priced and so wanted to know what you all thought of the quality of it, and whether it is good to make a quilt with.

Thanks!

daisydawg 09-28-2016 09:47 PM

Buy from them all the time. They have really good fabric and thread. You won't be disappointed.

tbumgarn 09-28-2016 09:49 PM

I buy from there. Love the fabrics. They are wonderful for quilts. Connecting thread has great clearance prices on spring prints.

osewme 09-28-2016 10:18 PM

I have bought from them in the past & am really pleased with their fabric. I have bought kits from them also & have always been supplied with more than enough fabric to complete the kit. I use their thread for all my sewing.

zozee 09-28-2016 10:27 PM

Very pleased. I have bought fabric and thread many times. In fact, my latest quilt was probably 75% CT fabrics.

bonniemanley 09-28-2016 10:27 PM

Fabric is wonderful. Never disappointed.

Bozatron 09-28-2016 11:17 PM

Thanks all! Sounds like a great place! Will definitely try them!

quilterpurpledog 09-29-2016 03:29 AM

I have been thinking of placing an order but have not so far. I think all of these positive comments is going to push me through my resistance.

Ginger's Mom 09-29-2016 04:27 AM

I have ordered from them many times. They really have a great selection, you can't beat the price either. Their fabric is of good quality, it's got substance to it, not paper thin as I've seen at Walmart. I really love their Quilters Candy Mirage fat quarters and used it in a couple of quilts already. I'm pleased with the fabric and plan on getting some more.

Onebyone 09-29-2016 04:31 AM

I buy a lot of the kits. There is always more then enough fabric for the pattern. I buy the kits when they are on sale just for the fabric. The precuts of the fabric are exactly the cost of the fabric. I buy a lot of notions from CT too.

grammasharon 09-29-2016 05:14 AM

I have bought their fabric and also their kits and have never been disappointed. Always good quality and more than enough fabric. I use their thread also

zennia 09-29-2016 05:20 AM

I use their thread all the time. Their kits are very generous. I was able to make a pattern twice with one kit.

Snooze2978 09-29-2016 06:52 AM

I have most of their personal named collections. Love their Mirage for blender fabrics. Wish they'd quit discontinuing certain colors though. I collect most all their batiks, dots, stripes as they're great for that tiny sashing and/or binding. I also have all their threads in both the cotton and polyester. True their cotton is linty but I find most all cotton threads linty so for the price, I'll take the lint.

catsden 09-29-2016 08:24 AM

Love their fabric and thread. I buy from them alot.

RobertaK1 09-29-2016 09:27 AM

We buy lots of yardage when we need backing material. You can get a 10 yard piece fairly reasonable.

I've always wondered about that. Thanks for the info!

I do the same thing.

notmorecraft 09-29-2016 10:21 AM

I have bought from them a few times, fabric is great shipping to U.K. Is fast and free

luvspaper 09-29-2016 10:50 AM

I love their thread and often buy their fabric too if I like the pattern. I've gotten quite a bit on clearance over the years. I tend to value shop and they have better values for me than the LQS -- especially for the reasons I make quilts (to be used, not as heirlooms or art).

SouthPStitches 09-29-2016 10:58 AM

Can't say enough good things about Connecting Threads. Great quality fabric, good thread, great prices and customer service. Have ordered several kits and they have been wonderful. The patterns go together well and they are more than generous with the amount of fabric provided.

QuiltingHaven 09-29-2016 03:02 PM

They are terrific....I was expanding the size of a quilt that I had ordered and ran out of one color. Emailed them and they sent the extra fabric within that day and I got it 2 days later. They were terrific.

CookieZenmilk 09-29-2016 04:09 PM

agree with the above posts. love them. i use their thread exclusively. love the solid fabric bundles. i often buy the kits on sale just for the fabric.

wesing 09-29-2016 05:39 PM

We have ordered from them several times and are always happy with the fabric. Their thread is all we use - for both piecing and quilting. As others have said, you get a lot of value from their products. You get free shipping at $50, which is easy for us to do, but if you have doubts place a small order. Shipping is reasonable on smaller orders. A couple of yards of fabric and a couple of spools of thread would only be about $17.

cathyvv 09-29-2016 07:42 PM

Their sales call to me all day long, every day. That's a good thing.

Tom W 09-29-2016 07:56 PM

love CT, can't beat their fabric, kits or thread. And when it's on sale or clearance it's a steal.

paoberle 09-30-2016 02:39 AM

I love their fabric.

jmoore 09-30-2016 03:31 AM

I have never been disappointed the few times I've purchased from CT. They put little stickers on your fabric as to how much yardage was cut (cuz sometimes I forget what I ordered to begin with). LOL

I think the quality is good and it is easy to shop from their website.

twinkie 09-30-2016 03:41 AM

Love their fabric.

lovelyl 09-30-2016 04:03 AM

My go to site, especially for their kits and their line of quilter basic fabric. Great customer service, also!

lovingLakeMich 09-30-2016 04:56 AM

If you have any quilting friends that live close to you, combine orders for free shipping.

salederer 09-30-2016 05:51 AM

love connecting threads fabric! At our quilt club we use a lot of their fabric for our donation quilts. About twice a year when the fabric is on sale we order some especially to use for backings.

Sewnoma 09-30-2016 06:05 AM

I have a quilt that includes some of their mirage fabric and it's wearing a bit odd - the print is coming off in the spots that are highest and get rubbed the most.

That's about the worst thing I can say about their fabrics, after using them for about 3 years. I buy their solids all the time. They fray a little bit easier than something like Kona, but it's good thick fabric and once its in the quilt it looks great and wears very well. The price is fantastic and I like that their thread colors match. Easy to find thread that will "vanish", if that's what you're after. Never had a bleeder from them either, not even a batik.

I love their thread for quilting, too. For piecing I use thinner thread, but for quilting I LOVE their cotton thread. It's thicker than my piecing thread so it shows up better, it comes in a ton of colors, and I've never found a knot or had any other quality issues with it. And the price can't be beat - I wait until they have a sale and stock up; I believe I have at least one spool of every single color they offer. It's really handy to have such a varied thread stash on hand! And they have variegated thread now, which I think is fun to use on a meander.

I use their big polyester cones, too. I use cotton in my quilts, but for utility sewing and mending I tend to use polyester; and it does very well in my high-speed industrial machine too.

OH, and their flannel!! I LOVE their flannel, can't believe I almost forgot to mention it. It's really thick and soft and fuzzy, and so far it hasn't pilled up on me at all. It's my absolute favorite flannel, never found any I like better. It makes me wish I lived somewhere colder so I could have my flannel quilt on the bed year-round!

Also, no order from CT is complete without at LEAST one pair of the little snip scissors with the purple handles. Very sharp, very nice little scissors - I use mine for all sorts of things, including for removing seams. I buy them all the time - I like to keep them all over the house and also I give them away when a visiting sewing friend borrows them and falls in love. They're great little scissors.

I have never been disappointed and order from them frequently.

salemrabbits 09-30-2016 08:18 AM

happy with my purchases, also like the reasonable pricing on shipping- doesn't take long to have it FREE!

crafty pat 09-30-2016 08:39 AM

I have bought from them and been very happy with the fabrics I have bought. Love the kits I have from them, plenty of fabric for the project and great instructions.

sparkys_mom 09-30-2016 01:13 PM

I really like their thread. I've purchased color sets and been very happy with them. Nice way to get a variety of colors at an acceptable price.

huntannette 09-30-2016 01:36 PM

I buy from them all the time and I `m in Canada...reasonable prizes...I buy fabric, batting and backings.

They had a phone center, warehouse and retail store here. Relocated, to the Midwest? Better tax situation. Plus our minimum is high. Miss them. Loved it when they started carrying their own line of thread.

JeanieG 09-30-2016 09:35 PM

I am also a user of Connecting Threads. I'm disappointed that they don't have any batiks. Wonder if they are going to get some more??? Anyone know?

I buy their cotton thread in basic colors by the cone. Such a fantastic buy! Their fabric has always been great too.

dcamarote 10-01-2016 03:52 AM

I have ordered from Connecting Threads many, many times. Only once was I disappointed and when I called them to tell them about the fabric I received, they gave me the entire amount back AND told me to keep the whole order. Only a portion was what I was not happy with but they gave me a credit on my charge for everything. I view that as a dealer who wants happy customers. I have ordered from they since and will continue to do so. They are great!
