I am going to try Hobbs poly-down batting from Connecting Threads. I have never ordered from there. Any suggestions on other "good stuff" I could get from them?

They have great prices on batiks and on thread. Check out their specials.

i buy most of my threads from them- battings when on sale- they have a nice selection of (gadgets/notions)
the fabrics (especially the 1930's lines are quite nice.
i always order enough to qualify for free shipping :)

thread -- they often have good deals on books too!

Check their clearance fabric section for good prices on fabric for backings. I also like their samplers. You can't beat the prices for strips, charms and 10-inch squares. I find the charm packs a good way to sample the fabrics. Then I can use them in scrap quilts.

And of course the thread.

I've only bought a pattern but hear the thread is good.

They currently have books and batting on sale.

I LOVE the Pro line of poly bobbin/quilting thread that I just got - it's similar to Bottom Line, but it's completely matte and it's drapey-er. I think it's going to be as perfect for hand applique and machine quilting as Bottom Line.

I already liked their Essentials cotton thread and their fabrics. You pretty much can't go wrong with CT. :)

I ordered some charms packs and really like the feel of the fabric.
