A while back, I bought a kit from Connecting Threads, and decided to work on it last night. I couldn't believe the quality of the fabric. The widths were 45", which you don't find anymore, and the fabric had a nice feel and weight to it. Needless to say, I am quite pleased.

I LOVE Connecting Threads!!!! I have a couple of their kits and the quality of them is great!!!

I agree - their kits are wonderful and the fabric quality can't be beat. The fabric amounts in the kits are also very generous. If you have not tried their thread line - it is very nice as well. I have never had a complaint about anything I have ordered from them. Truly a great shop.

I just placed my second order with them...I was thrilled with the first one so I had to get more!!! In this order I'm getting some of their cotton thread to try.
Ya can't help luvin' stash!!!! Maureen |
I am thinking of doing some shopping there today on line.
I have to say I love connecting threads. I have bought seveal kits, threads and even my sewing table that was cut to fit my machine. They offer lots of things more then fabric and thread check them out. They ship fast and if you have any questions they have a phone number and very nice people to deal with

I haven't gotten any of there kits, but have gotten fabric from them and have to say that I have been pleased every time.
love Connecting Threads!

I agree. Their fabric and the threads they sell are excellent.

I was right! It arrived today!! 1 yard of each material, 3 batiks, 3 prints that were on clearance. 10 spools 50wt 100% Egyptian cotton 1200 yards dbl mercerized satin finish - their "Essential" line of thread.
This order .... $54.18 and shipping was free. The fabric has a LOVELY hand to it. Smooth, silky but not thin and wispy. The batiks are finer to the touch than Hoffman's, thinner, but the thread count is there - very smooth. I've got the two natural colored batiks in the wash now, will let you know how they wash up. But check out the weird selvedge on the prints. The selvedge is wider than on most prints, normal closed weave on one end and this on the other. Odd selvedge on one end of the prints |
Fabric out of wash. The fray was MINIMAL even on the one print that I washed.
I also measured the red batik, and red and purple prints. The batik is 45" width and was cut exactly to 1 yard. The prints were 46 3/4" width and were cut to 38". I'll meausure shrinkage on these - they're in the wash now. |
love them. Great store

I buy from CT more then any other online store. Be sure and check the website every Wed. that's when all the new special sales are posted.
I bought 2 strip sets that were on clearance from them and made a super fast jelly roll top from the tut that's been posted on the board I just have to boarder and quilt. I also bought a FQ sampler that is just waiting to become a Turning Twenty. So many projects so little time. And the weather is beautiful here today so I don't want to be inside. Is supposed to get up to 80 today!
I have purchased all their thread in the pastels, etc and the thread is excellent. Good quality and the price is so much cheaper than at Joann's. I usually buy cones at Joann's when it is on sale--like really cheap unless the coupons and my discount makes it cheaper when it is not on sale. I have never tried their fabric but I am thinking of giving it a try.
Glad you shared good news about CT. I've inherited 4 or 5 of their kits and wondered how I'd like them.
More test results.
Lint in dryer - minimal. Shrinkage - batik less than 1% in all directions. Prints - about 1% on width and length varied from 1% to 2% So all in all, I'm quite satisfied. |
I think every one of my quilts in the last few years have had some CT fabric someplace in it.
ditto
I love Connecting Threads too!! The fabric is top quality and the prices are affordable AND I love the fact that I'm buying fabric made from cotton grown in the USA
I've made some of CT's kits and really like them. I've also bought FQ's and they have all been first class. The thread is nice too, just wish it came in varigated colors.
I have purchased three times from CT. When unfolding the fabric I decided to measure the length because I forgot how much I ordered. I was confused by the length until I realized that the pieces each had an EXTRA INCH!!! There's even an extra inch on the half yard!
CT is one of my favorite on-line stores - their prices seem to be more reasonable than some other places, nice quality, and they offer good service.
I'll have to try.
Recently I ordered from them - only 22 yards of fabric lol. Am amazed at the quality and the price!!! Will continue to order from them as I love love their fabric - and the prices are better then anywhere here in Ontario - shipping was only $7.00.

Just got my first order from them. I can't believe the quality and value!
Get onto their email and they will automatically email you their special sales each week. I have bought alot from them including there thread package. I always buy on sale.
I lvoe thier fabric too. Now I want to try the thread, keep hearing nice things about it too.
I just bought some thread from them and it looks wonderful. It costs about 1/3 the amount of LQS. I think thread is way to expensive.
Their fabric holds up very well even under the tortured use by a 2 yr. old that LOVES his quilt. Their thread is consistently twisted, the correct way for threading through needles, and leaves little lint on and in my machines. Even when calculating the cost including shipping, CT makes this frugal shopper very happy!!!

I just got 2 spools of thread and 14 yards of material for 52.00. I've shopped with them for a long time and never been disappointed. Check out the clearance section for some great deals.
I just browsed their site and came up with some neat Tutorials - something I am always on the look-out for since I don't live anywhere near classes - what I saw so far was neat - going back and give some of it a try.

Bella- thanks for tip on sale Wednesdays! :)

I received my latest order of batik's from Connecting Threads just the other day and I must say they are far better quality then what I got from HOP and I'm still waiting for the completion of that order from HOP.
Great customer service and fast shipping, what's not to like about CT fabric. |

I love their stuff and order frequently from them. However they will not ship free to Alaska no matter what the value of the shipment but they do have a flat rate for shipping for us. Sometimes we combine orders and split the shipping.
I've been getting their catalogs for a long time but have never ordered fabric. All your comments have convinced me. I need to place an order! I love the looks of their stuff but was always unsure whether the quality would be what it should be. Thanks!
