I love Connecting Threads!! With each order I place, I buy a thread set. In March I ordered 2 sets and they sent the same sets instead of 2 different sets. I called and they said mine other was on backorder and they would send it as soon as it came in, and they let me keep the other set. I got my new set 2 weeks later. Love the thread and the fabric!

Before they closed the doors in Vancouver Wa. , my daughters and I took lessons, did the five dollar block of the month, bought lots of fabric, took hand quilting lessons from Debbie Beeves and it went on.
We were all so disappointed when they closed the warehouse and moved it. Then they closed the store and went on line only....phftttttt. A great loss to the quilters in that area.
They had the best ladies working there, I miss them. It isn't the same with a catalog and on line

I should add, they still have great service, decent prices and service...I'm just missing the "old days".

It is also nice that Connected Threads is also made in America. I like the fabric too.

How do I find out about Connecting Threads? I'm a newbie and never heard of them.

littlehud 08-13-2010 06:48 PM

Use the link and spend some time there just looking around. Great fabric, great thread and great prices. http://www.connectingthreads.com/Quilting.cfm

Use it for a quilt or a backing. With 8 yds, you have enough to work with so many things unless you just hate the fabric. Get other fabric that will go with the green if it can be used for the focus fabric

This is a company on the internet, if you just type in Connecting Threads and they have cheap kits, fabric is about 5.98 a yard, sometimes cheaper, and lots of notions and books at a discount.

Their thread is WONDERFUL & you can't beat the price. I use it for piecing & quilting. Love it!

I ordered from Connecting Threads for the first time last week. Of course I won't see until we get home. We are still on the road and won't be home until next month. I hear great things about them. I'm anxious to get home and see everything. Orderd a pattern, some books and some charm packs (they were on sale so got 2 of each)..

fancifrock 08-14-2010 04:34 PM

This is so good to hear. I just got my first catalogue from connecting threads and really wasn't sure about them. After what you said, I wouldn't hesitate to oder the couple of things I wanted. Thanks

Yes, I sure did, and the individual spools are now $2.50 as well. Still cheap for me buying from Canada (otherwise I'd be paying $8 for the same size spool here) but I think I'll still wait for sales. Good thing I just bought two thread sets last week.

Jingle 08-14-2010 04:55 PM

I love Connecting Threads, all my orders have been correct.

At the bottom of page 1, there is an ad for $3.96 a yard for 100% cotton fabric.

JudithAnn 08-14-2010 09:56 PM

Use it for a quilt back!

mjsylvstr 08-15-2010 03:15 AM

my experience has been the same, nothing but friendliness and good customer service

"Pay it Forward" - Keep half and give the other half to someone else.

ladyshuffler 08-16-2010 12:34 PM

"cheap" as in not expensive, but it's very good quality fabric.

mjsylvstr 08-16-2010 01:01 PM

watch for their 1/2 pricce sale.I bought loads for backings..they were all $2.96 a yard.and the fabric was great...all USA made.

Now that's what we like to read.......

Mousie 08-16-2010 01:44 PM

If nobody has suggested it...check out Thimbleberries quilt patterns.
Even if you are not a plaid lover, a little bit adds some pizazz to a nice, comfy-cozy country quilt!
Trade some of it to a plaid lover. :D

domaema 08-17-2010 07:10 PM

Some day you will have a use for the green fabric So just put it into your stash.

annette1952 08-17-2010 07:26 PM

That is really a nice surprise! Connecting Threads are great to work with though. I have bought alot from them & I've always been pleased!

Jere 08-19-2010 08:34 AM

Make a quilt and use the 8 yards for a backing...
