I love Connecting Threads thread. It is about all I use now. Great thread at a great price.

Great tip about the vinyl. Does it matter whether it is the lighter or heavier weight vinyl?

I think so. The lightweight is very "clingy" which is what you need, so it will stick to itself.

i love connecting threads!! their thread is very economical. i have about 4 of their sets, of course most of the colors are still shrinkwrapped but oh well!! they have great customer service and their material is made in the usa!! go ahead and order some stuff, i don't think you'll be disappointed

Has anyone used the thread for free motion quilting? It seems only some brands work very well in the high speed situation of freemotion on a frame. Always looking for a bargain so need to know!

I use Thread Socks for on my cone thread. It fits every spool or cone perfect.
Here is picture of it:

It occurred to me when I read your Thread Socks note that I might have not mentioned that the vinyl wrap is used only for storing the spools, but not while they are in use. I have 300+ cones of thread that I store and the thread will unwind if it's not secured somehow.

It is a good thread, but my Janome isn't happy with it; as it is a thicker thread than some others.

funny you should ask??? I'm using it to quilt a quilt now on the Grace frame. I like the thread but it is linty. I have to clean out the fuzz every once in awhile. I use just about everything tho...superior, aurifil, YLI, etc
