Converting block

I want to make a 10" bear paw block-NOT the 4 paw block just one bear paw. I saw it somewhere and didnt save it and I am unable to figure it out myself. Hate math! Lol Can someone please give me the dimensions for a basic one that is 10"? Thank you!

is this what you have in mind?

It would be a lot easier (finished size) to go down to a 9.0 inch or up to a 10.5 inch unit - because this is usually a 3 x 3 unit.

I think this is what you are asking for. Could you go with 9" square? ..... But because you have specified 10", the numbers are not "pretty" lol. It is based on a 9 Patch so 10 divided by 3 is 3.333333" finished which when you add in the 1/4" seam allowance gets ugly. Here are the EQ cutting directions for a 10 " finished block

Maybe someone with e-quilter can print it out for you with templates.

But the measurements would be "difficult" - as far as I'm concerned. I am willing to deal with 1/8 *" increments - because that's what my ruler has marks for.

10 inches is approximately 25.4 centimeters, so that would also be awkward to work with.

BearIsGray ... totally with you on the no-way-jose of doing it at that size!

Though there is a way ..... and keep ones sanity!
And that would be to ...... PP the whole thing.
Precision is there. Draw it up once and done. Then sew away to ones heart's content!!

Geez Louise

Well, that is certainly a disappointing revelation as it's taken me 2 weeks to get the dang thing configured with blocks and sashing and a block that I figured would be easy enough for this venture. Thank you all for the input! Guess it's back to the hunt for a block!😭

I do have other 10" blocks downloaded so I have lots of resources for them. Thank you again!
And no, I'm not creative enough to invent my own! Lol

Not sure what you are trying to do but could you make a 9" block and put a birder around it to make it 10"?

I was playing around and I came up with this unit that could finish at 10 inches.

That design may work. However, I was thinking maybe I should just find a simple applique' design for some of the squares and use a basic 10" block for others. This is going to be a king size duvet cover so there are alot of squares for me to play around with. Thank you all for the input,it is greatly appreciated! I will be sure to let y'all know how it turns out.
