You're right, I bought some clothesline and it was waaaayy too stiff. More appropriate for the edge of upholstery or something like that. So bottom line, I forgot about the cording in the binding, may try out the method in the tute from fabric lover later on. Meanwhile, I turned it, had a wider edge on the back (as some suggested) it looks really great, and I hand-sewed it down allllllllll the waay around and it's DONE!!!

I have put it in the washer to wash before I send as a gift. Want to make sure it won't fall apart on the receiver.

Thanks to all of you who offered suggestions, I appreciate the advice. I came close to the idea of stuffing with batting, but was too far along with the hand stitching before I saw that suggestion.

I'm glad it worked it out for you, and the fix was relatively painless!
