I would sure give it a try. And have lots of fun in the process.
Yes, I could
I would certainly try! Can I donate some?
Would putting it as a Down Payment on a QS Count??
I would sure give it a try. And just think of the gifts I could give away. I belong to 4 quilting/sewing groups. They would all vote me their BFB.

Let's see, at an average of $10/yd that comes to 1500yds. If there are 15yds on a bolt of fabric that's 100 bolts of fabric. You bet I could find 100 bolts of batiks to buy!
Somebody check my arithmetic! Sure

In a heart beat
Bearisy Gray: Hi I think you missed the target. That only 1500.
Don't feel bad I did the same sort of thing this past week. |
I would invite my 4 best friends and we'd all share the fun!
Well, first I'd invite all my quilting friends to meet me at the LQS and treat them all! Do you think I could slip in a new Bernina as "fabric"????

Oh yes, I could spend that on fabric... I'd take the first flight out to Bali... and stuff a container full of batiks! |
Let me get my mom, we could totally make that happen. Even if we couldn't get a long arm. My DH on the other hand, would probably have a heart attack! :-)
If they would let me do it on line I could. :lol
That's only 30 batik kits with backing. No problem.
Yep! For real. I could!
If I got it in the morning I would drive up to Hancocks of Paducah (3 hour drive) walk in ask for the manager, slap the money on the counter, and tell them if they want the pile of cash they need to make me happy!!!
I would be wheeling and dealing (I know all about gross profit and sales numbers) you guys might get 100 to 125 bolts of fabric but cash is king and I would more than likely walk out with closer to 200 or so bolts. Remember when you buy in bulk you get a hell of a discount!! ;-) ;-) Billy |
In Brewster's Millions, didn't he have to spend the money and have NOTHING to show for it at the end of the month?
If that were the case, I would LOVE to have the money to spend on my fellow quilters. I have enough fabric in my house right now to keep me occupied for the rest of my lifetime (not that that keeps me from still shopping for more), so it would be a blast to be able to buy all this fabric for my quilting friends and for charities that make quilts. |
Okay, if I win how 'bout you going to Paducah with me and if you win I go with you! I am not much of a dicker-er (is that even a word?).
Sure! I already have a list going. Now give it to me and I'll prove it. ;)
 dont get us all excited it;s to much to handel
First I would stop at our little batik shop and buy them out, it wouldn't take much because it is a small shop. BTW can I rent a U-Haul truck? Next I would head to Paducah 45min drive with my Dd and hit Hancock's then invite you all over for a fabric party. Woo hoo every body gets some. Just no fighting please there will be plenty to go around.
hee hee, that sounds like something I would do!! Um, Wait an minute,.... I do it all the time! I always go into a store thinking, " I'll only buy what I need and leave." RIGHT! last week I went a little too far and had to use half cc and half cash! Well, I could have given something up, but Yeah, RIGHT! I don't think so! hee hee

Full bolts of blenders and kids fabric would be next. Flannels!! I don't have any of that in my stash so whoooowee! Now I need to look at holiday prints..again full bolts please! I need as many bolts of 105" muslin backing as I can find, oh and whatever 105" blender backing too please. How am I doing? May I please get some of that garden prints...yes I'll take a bolt from the whole collection, thank you. Now that all of that is out of the way, I'll just stroll down this way and take whatever strikes my fancy. What do you mean I passed the $15,000??? I owe how much???? opps!
I'd pick a store and have the time of my life. Heck maybe they would just sell me the store. Oh boy would I have fun.
I'd even invite you to help me. ;) |
I could be done and home by noon!
I think I could!! BUT - I don't know where in the world I would put it - have to rent a storage building!!!
I wouldn't be hard for me as I would just buy bolts...ahahahah
Oh yeah!!
yes, it would not take me long to add $15,000 worth of fabric to my stash!
Would it have to be fabric? Or could we include a quilting frame and/or machine in that? :) I could have a really great time but it would take me the entire day and there would have to be a really good selection like our local Fabric Depot!
Oh, I could do that so easily!!!!!!!!!
only $15,000? what about after lunch?
Now, if he just said I could use it on a sewing machine and a long arm as well as fabric, life would be good!
Easy.
Shoot! I could have done that today! I went into the local quilt store who until just recently had only civil war fabric. They expanded and got in brights, batiks and repos!!! Such beautiful completed quilts hanging on the walls, they have antique twin size beds, baby beds, cribs in there all decked out in quilts with the patterns and fabric bundles. I'll take one of everything pretty please!!!
I came home all excited and told my husband. All he could do was laugh at me. lol |

Wow. that leads to some serious thought. Right away I knew I could spend it but use it well I'm still thinking. Could I have the help of some friends in the using it all part?
