Yes, I agree, lights vs darks, medium tones vs lights or vs darks, etc. I don't think it would look good in 30's prints...not enough contrast.

Something like Kansas Troubles or civil war repros would be good....lights/mediums/darks.

Oh, thank you so much for this picture, this is what I want. I do like bright colors. My first quilt was red and white and very bright. I thank everyone for all their help. This is exactly what I want and I have the fabric for it in my stash too. I am sooooo glad I joined this quilting board. Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions.

This is the one I want. Also, is that a Basset Hound ? I have had about 6 Bassets. Absolutely love them.
