I am taking a Courthouse Steps class soon. The pattern calls for 26 various fabrics as well as a solid for the center/border. The sample quilt is beautiful in batiks, but I don't think that is what I want to do. I have looked online and in books, but so far, have found very little. Does anyone have an idea what I could use ? I love the 1930 prints but will that look good ? The pattern calls for contrast and I guess I could use a white background against a colored background ? Any ideas ?

How about pinks/oranges/yellows vs. blues/greens?
|
lights versus darks
tans/ivories with any and all dark colors pale gray/white with reds/blacks |
I used varying shades of blue with cream and white tone on tones in a quilt I made for my parents. I can see if they can snap a pic if you like. (I always forget to do that.)

 Be bold and use red as your neutral and med/light scrappy for the rest. Little crazy for you??? The longer I quilt the more risks I'm willing to take with color...doesn't always come out like I expect, but I've never thrown one away! Relax and have fun...in the end you'll have a lovely, warm hug...be sure to post pictures for us :D
