Most of my baby quilts are either embroideried or appliqued and they are seldom used on the baby. Always on the wall or used as a decoration. It's ok by me.

While it is nice that the quilt is being used as a piece of art, I would ask them to use it for it's intended purpose; a quilt for the crib, couch, bed, floor, just use it!

I think that was a HUGE compliment for them to hang it.
They will probably put it into service when the baby gets older! Great job you did on it too. |
That is darling...I'm sure they think they are honoring you and the quilt by hanging it, but maybe one day they will honor both by laying it on the floor as a wonderful floor quilt and then put it on his bed when he gets older. I love big floor quilts that have room for baby and adults to get together. Just cherish the idea that they love it.

If this is their first baby, they probably have read about not putting cover or anything else in the crib. Good grief, how did we all survive? =-) Anyway, why don't you suggest that they use it for Tummy Time. Your quilt is adorable. I really like it!

Thanks everyone for the comments. We were flattered that they liked it so much, just not 100% sure that we were understanding this new reception to our quilts. Hopefully when is a bit older they will take it down and let him play with it, but I guess he'll just have to enjoy looking at it for now.
Anne Marie - We got the robot fabric at Hobby Lobby. The group also includes the stripe on the binding and the black background circles. Thanks again everyone! Darren |
What a wonderful 'anchor" for the room!

A quilt on the wall is still enjoyed, and the little one will see it daily. Perhaps there are plenty of other quilts for him to drag around. I think this was a big compliment from the parents.
