Craftsy Classes, how many do you have?

I bought one while it was 50% off making my total 28 of the quilting classes. Craftsy is a terrific bargain. I have taken several in person classes with some of the instructors before and the Craftsy class really has much more output from the instructor then I got in class. I guess they aren't distracted by all the students with different levels of comprehending. If you haven't tried it Anita Grossman Solomon's class is 50% now. And you get her book free which more then pays for the class.

60 classes but they include sewing, quilting, cooking, and drawing. I love the format.

judy363905 06-06-2015 01:11 PM

Great question, I just checked and I have 24 active classes (not all quilting, some knitting, crocheting baking, spindling and drawing) and 7 classes on my wish list. I too enjoy Craftsys. Also wanted to mention that some are short free classes and craftsy instructors do a nice job on those also. :)

I only have 6!! Sounds like I need to get busy!! LOL

tallchick 06-06-2015 01:36 PM

I love craftsy!! I have 57 classes, and I download them all so that I can view them without Internet since I live in the boonies and we are stuck with satellite. I love being able to view at my own pace and being able to go back and refresh my memory.

franc36 06-06-2015 02:36 PM

I have 77. Guess you can tell that I love Craftsy classes. The class I am working on today is the 2015 Craftsy BOM which is free. I am working on those hand appliquéd flowers. You would think that by now I would not need any more classes; but I have learned from each class that I have taken. I love the fact that I can go back to classes any time.

tessagin 06-06-2015 02:39 PM

I downloaded 2 and just haven't gotten back to them. not sure which they are either.

mandyrose 06-06-2015 03:27 PM

I have 10 how do you download them? I thought you can only watch them online.

Sync 06-06-2015 03:45 PM

I love Craftsy. Now I don't have as many classes as you do. I have 10 quilting classes with 4 more on my wish list. Then I have 4 cooking classes and 2 on my wish list.

sewbeadit 06-06-2015 04:15 PM

I have about the same as you all quilting.

Really? I got that class but don't remember getting a book. Guess I need to look again. Love Craftsy but keep falling asleep during class :/ I looked and I have 11 LOL I know it's not the teachers as it happens with all of them LOL

I just got Jinny Beyer's BOM fabric from Craftsy and I love her fabric. But life got in the way and I need to make time in my busy retired schedule. I cannot believe I used to work full time. I will have to download too if I can. I go to my cottage in the Pa. mountains and no internet there. Maybe I can figure something out.

PaperPrincess 06-06-2015 04:50 PM

I have 7. I love one, like one and thought the rest were just ok. They were from published instructors and I didn't seem to get much more from the class than from the instructors' books.

Sheri.a 06-06-2015 05:03 PM

83 (63 quilting & embroidery related) - over 3 years. I have received many free and gifts. I also wait for specials. It's much cheaper than the cable movie channels my DH pays for monthly. :D

I don't try to do all of the projects, but I have learned so much. At night sometimes watching a class on my iPad just to help me relax and fall asleep. I also listen to classes when I'm quilting.

I think Craftsy is genius. I know I will get what I pay for. I've received credit for 3 that I just didn't feel were for me.

jeanharville 06-06-2015 05:47 PM

I have 65 which includes several crafts and some free ones such as block of the month.

KristenJ 06-06-2015 06:59 PM

Wow! This is really good to know. I've wondered about the craftsy classes but was kinda afraid to order any. Ya'll have given me the incentive to go ahead and order some. I have SO much too learn! LOL

silliness 06-06-2015 07:01 PM

I have 39. I've only purchased quilting and cooking classes. I think about half have to be the free classes. The thing is that I have yet to watch a single one all the way through. I have watched the section on the three different ways to do bindings in the Finishing School class probably 50 times. LOL. Every time that I sew the binding together I watch it again. You would think by now that I could remember how to do it.

madamepurl 06-06-2015 07:09 PM

176 - Quilting, sewing, knitting, spinning, weaving, photography, embroidery and cooking. Seriously these crafty classes are addicting. I love to watch them. Sometimes I make the project and sometimes not. I really liked when they did those monthly quilt along ones.

DebD800 06-06-2015 07:18 PM

I have 103 classes. Almost all are quilting, but maybe five or six are "just" sewing. I started out with the sewing classes a few years ago and my sister talked me into taking a few quilting classes. That's all I've been interested in ever since!!

Onebyone 06-06-2015 07:42 PM

Wow! 176! Now that will keep you busy for a long time. I love the baking classes too.

grammysharon 06-06-2015 10:39 PM

Gee I am way behind only have 4!! LOL

Teacup 06-07-2015 02:37 AM

I've purchased 4 and learned a lot! And I have many more I'd like to get. Be sure to check out the FREE classes and patterns. There is a free one on using various feet on your sewing machine that is helpful.

bneuen 06-07-2015 02:49 AM

I have 33 classes, mostly quilting. This year I am focusing on free motion quilting and the classes for that are exceptional.

beadywoman 06-07-2015 02:55 AM

My name is Jennifer. I am a Craftsyholic.

quilttiger 06-07-2015 03:18 AM

Craftsy has frequent markdowns on the classes, so it pays to wait for the markdowns before ordering them.

nancyw 06-07-2015 04:06 AM

I have 53 classes, some are free.

petpainter 06-07-2015 04:30 AM

I think I have 32 now...I really enjoy them and love that I can watch them anytime. What a wealth of knowledge from National teachers that you may not be able to see in person!!!

quilterpurpledog 06-07-2015 04:47 AM

I have several quilting classes and really enjoy them. I always download the materials and keep them for reference. I am working on some of the modern techniques now. I think they are worth the money because I don't have to go anywhere at some particular time and I am not pressured into buying class materials at a store. And, I can proceed at my own pace. Sometimes I am that student who is ready to skip ahead and leave others in the dust-other times I am the one who would surely drag everyone else down to my slow pace. With Craftsy no one knows these things except me.

sharkee 06-07-2015 04:56 AM

141 -They include quilting, embroidery and cooking. I love them since the nearest quilt shop is an hour away, I work all day 5 days a week, and they rarely offer Sat classes at the shop

I also thought they were only available on line. Can you explain how you download them for use without interent. That would be a great plus. Thanks

Sounds like me too!

How often do those of you with many classes refer back to them?

ManiacQuilter2 06-07-2015 05:47 AM

I have never tried them. I prefer learning a new technique from a live person who can correct my small errors and get me on the right track. I do watch a u-tube occasionally to help me brush up a new technique. If we do not support our LQS, they will become instinct like the dinosaur.

nellie 06-07-2015 06:32 AM

i just brought another new class that makes 166 quilting classes, sewing 10 and cooking 8 classes

MarleneC 06-07-2015 07:02 AM

I have 88 classes--not all are quilting but I have most of the quilting classes. Learn something new from all of them. I have downloaded a lot of them--but I do like watching them online as I enjoy reading the question/answer portion.

benson1 06-07-2015 07:05 AM

could someone tell me how do you download the entire class or do you do each part separate thanks maryb

I like learning from a live person too but living in a small town in Alaska--we don't have all the resources that larger Lower 48 stores provide and Craftsy fills that need.

ItsJustMe 06-07-2015 07:41 AM

92 classes - Quilting, Sewing, Embroidery & Drawing. I have learned so much in each genre, especially drawing, and it has been a lifelong desire to learn to draw. Craftsy is the best for my visual learning style.

Monika 06-07-2015 07:49 AM

download them???

sophiebernina 06-07-2015 08:55 AM

I've just checked and was suprised to find that I have 53 classes for sewing and quilting. I often refer back to them. I try and buy them when they have a 50% offer, that way I can get two at a time!!

Veinurse 06-07-2015 09:55 AM

I'm not counting. But over 30. I live 30 miles from the nearest quilting center. Craftsy has saved me on our cold, snowy days. I started way back with a lady named Jenny Doan, now look at her! I would like to give a shout out for their fabric, kits and support. I bought a queen size quilt kit, backing fabric and a different bunch of precuts. It came is a grey plastic bag that the USPS had taped up after it caught in something. It had twisted so much the off white fabric was ripped, blacken and just plain mangled. I emailed them and they replaced the whole thing, no questions asked and I had said it was not all ruined. With that service I will never hesitate to order from them.
