Craftsy mystery box
After seeing someone mention they were considering buying the $120 mystery box from Craftsy for half price or $60, I took the plunge, gave into my quest to increase my stash - I bought into the deal and waited anxiously for my goodies. Saturday I received a very light weight box that was small enough to fit in my mailbox. The box was a mystery because there wasn't any indication of who it was from, just shipping code bars and my name and address. What a huge disappointment! I received 3 charm packs, two were the same line, and one moda pack of seven fat quarters. $120 value???? I don't see where the box was even close to a $60 value. What is even more concerning is they didn't include a shipping document or anything with the measly contents to indicate where to return it or how to receive a refund. I was able to contact them via facebook and they advised I contact their service dept. at [email protected]. I know I will never buy from craftsy again. I'm so disappointed I will direct all of their future emails to my junk mail! Anyone else get the same surprise in their mystery box?

I sure hope you did report this. It sounds like a real scam! I would think Craftsy would act on this because they can't afford the bad press. Also hope you put this on the Facebook page. So sorry this happened to you.

You should check out this thread about the mystery boxes from Craftsy.com You are not the only person displeased! http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...ml#post5368972

Sorry you were displeased. It seems the later the order, the less the contents. I got $120 value in my box but others did not.
I hope they listen to you and let you return it and make the boxes better next go around. |
I think I would complain loud and long. First off, if it's a mystery box, it should already be heavily discounted. (I would expect at least a 50% discount right there.) Then if it's 50% off the normal mystery box price, you should be getting $240 worth of fabric. Craftsy's good reputation seems to be crumbling. So sad. Please let us know if they make it right.

Thank you all for responding, somehow it makes me feel much better. I did get a response from craftsy. They emailed me a return form although they first stated that they normally don't take returns but because I was dissatisfied they would make an exception! No mention of why my great value was so cheesey. I first notified them via facebook, but didn't make a big stink, maybe I will revisit them. Anyway, I wanted to spread the word hear, I love this site and wait anxious every morning for it to be emailed - I get it just before 630 am. I value the iinformation I get from reading the posts and seeing the beautiful work everyone displays. Hopefully someday I will be good enough to share something I have made!

The problem is that people didn't get $120 worth. (Although craftsy seems to say they did.) I'm glad they are taking this return. $60 is a lot to spend to be disappointed. (I really like Fabric.com 3-pound cotton assortments. They are $20, and I've always gotten nice useable fabric. Usually, but not always, brand name.) |
I spoke with someone from craftsy and was told that the retail value for my moda etchings 13 piece fat bundle was $80 which means 6.15 a fat quarter or better yet $24 a yard. The valorie wells is a name I had never heard of was valued at $14.95 I was told my box was valued at $123 . I will not buy from them again they are accepting these back because of the issue of value.

A 20 piece fat quarter bundle of Moda Etchings is valued at $80 ($4 each) according to several online shops on the internet. A 40 piece is $125 which makes them $3.13 apiece. |
Thank you for posting this. Hopefully it will save others ( like me) from buying anything from them.
