I love this. I so want to make an old fashioned crazy quilt complete with embroidery and lace. Did you paper piece this, have a pattern or just wing it?

No pattern here. Can't see it, but each seam is finished off with fancy stitching. Son was just here and showed me (again) how to get the picture moved. Wonder how long I'll remember this time!!!!! Duh!

Beautiful. It must be time consuming, but, it is very beautiful. Just remember " Scraps begets scraps, which begets scraps..." Have fun!

Time consuming--yes. Blocks for the queen in progress took at least 2 wks. The fancy stitching took the greater part of it. But, it was fun. Helped the scrap pile and still have a garbage bag left.

Do you sew a piece under the shashing, like you do under the squares as you make it?

No, but wish I had. Also, I did not use batting.

Just regular fmq on home machine. Not pp, just stick hand in pile of scraps and whatever comes out is it. Fun, fun, fun.

Love it but then again I made one last year very similar except more black since I made the blocks all different sizes.
