Design your own. I made my daughter in law one a few years back and it has Cowboy hats and boots on it (she decorators her tree Western). I don't like small skirts, I like them to come out as far as the bottom limbs reach. So, do some measuring and go for it.

I have a pattern that I have used many times thru the years. It is called Sensational Tree Skirt and it is by North Woods Quilt Designs (they may not be around anymore). Their address is P.O. Box 451, Jackson, W.I. 53037.

I can honestly say that this is the prettiest skirt I have made.

I love yours. Does the pattern have a name? I wouldn't use it just for Christmas or a tree skirt. It would be table toppers. Thanks for sharing.

I made this one last year based on a design by Jennifer Bosworth of Shabby Fabrics. My version is super-large (7ft diameter for a 15 ft. tree) but the original design is 45 in. diameter. You can purchase the pattern here:

Holy cow is it that time of year already?!?!?!

I need to make my family one for this coming year but I think I will wait a few more months until I slow down with the vintage machines and have the addition built on the studio. But dont feel like odd about asking this time of the year because I just got my Quilter Magazine and it had a couple of Christmas related quilts and wall hangings in it. Must be the whole Christmas in July thing coming up.

I made one years ago using squares lined up to make rows (on an angle of the same color if that is as clear as mud) I used 5 colors combinations (and numbered them 1 - 5 then started out sewing them together starting row 1 with #1 then 2nd row with #2 and continue, after #5 start back to 1 make the rows as long as you think you want your skirt to be. When i had a big square sewn together i cut out a circle by folding into a big triangle and trimming to circle. When you have a circle fold it in half and cut halfway through to make opening to put around tree. Put batting and backing together with a wide lace inbetween and sewed it like an envelope quilt leaving a space to turn. I tied this as at the time i didn't know how to quilt. Don't know if this has helped but i love mine and have used it for about 30 years, getting a little worn but still looks ok.
