I have such a long list of projects in waiting I will never get there!

Look through magazines. Go to the quilt shops and talk to other quilters. The big thing is to get out of the house.
Think about making a charity project that always perks me up.

I've had a quilt on the table all day that needs to be square up and I have been on the board all day posting pictures, and chating. lol

For me, I have to clean my sewing room. Clear out all clutter, vacuum, wipe down computer monitor, tv, printer, sewing machine, then sit down in my nice clean room and look at patterns. That'll get me started every time. (If it's a bad block or case of the blahs) If it's not too bad, I'll make a doll quilt for a swap - that can get my mojo going too.

sometimes i just take a break and read a book or something else......or: looking at quilt books, or just getting out my fabrics and looking at them and feeling them inspire some kind of idea. or... suddenly there is a potential need or an acutal need....then i think of 2 or 3 other ones i could make a quilt for and suddenly there is not enuf time for all i want to do!

What is a mug rug? Is that like a coaster? Never heard that term sounds interesting.

A mug rug is what you get when a coaster and a placemat have a baby! lol. It is a coaster with room for a snack, usually around 6x9 inches.

When I am stumped, I go online and google quilting blogs. There are so many creative people out there and something always peeks my interest.

Making preemie quilts for the local hospitals is good therapy for the blahs....they go together so fast, because they're so small. Only about 16" square max, or if oblong 16" x 13 maybe. Those babies are so tiny! And I minimally quilt them, grid or X or wavy lines, and I use the "pillow turn" method, so they don't even need to be bound. It's surprisingly gratifying to use fabric you never thought would be suitable for anything! Bright, bold colors for backs, any kind of kid oriented print for front, and it doesn't even need to be pieced.....some smaller pieces can be bordered in a coordinate color to reach the 14-16" size.
Believe me, they're fun and recieved with gratitude in the preemie ward!

I think sometimes we just need to rest .I would sit down with some quilting books and just visit with them I will bet after looking at quilting pictures something will pop out that you have always wanted to do particularly something you put off and pretty soon you will have at least 3 items you just have to make. This works for me.

What kicks me out of granny gear???? A NEW PATTERN !!!! Either that or a trip to the shop for my machine, and then I can't sew. Drives me crazy that I CAN"T sew. Auntie B from Saskatchewan (rhymes with Scratch -N-Win)

A change of scenery. Can you go visit a friend or relatives in a nearby town? Sometimes just clearing your mind of it helps clear the cobwebs. Barring that, go get a massage, or even better, a foot massage.

I go to the local quilt shop or get out my pattern books and dream of different things I could do.
