My sewing/computer room was named "Creative Room" by my SIL who had been invited by my DH to see something on the computer. I hesitated to have her in this room, because it was messy. Her comment was "It is not messy because you are creating" She said she saw some fabric, rulers, etc. but did not consider it a mess. It has been called creative room for several years now and I am ok with that.

Mine is called My playroom!!
I don't need a special name for sewing room. I just refer to it as "my hideaway"
My mother refers to hers as her "inspiration room."
My room is not a sewing room, craft room, studio or anything else. It is My Room. When I tell everyone I'm going to my room, they know exactly where to find me. They also know they need to knock and enter very carefully.

I call mine "The Dining Room", which I have taken over! Different strokes for different folks... A 'studio' is where artwork is created, but anything can happen in a 'room'.
I call mine my sewing room even though I do lesson preparation and computer work there. I'm not fancy enough for a studio!
My "Studio" is 3/4th of the basement, and is called a studio because I consider myself a fabric artist. That is all that is done in the studio, creating artwork, be it a quilt, a wall hanging or whatever I decide to do with my fabric. A painter always has a studio, not an art room. You can call your sewing area whatever you want, after all it is YOURS. Too many people downgrade their "craft" as simply sewing, and don't consider themselves artists. Many times we sell ourselves short. So if you want to work in a sewing room, fine, if you want to create in a studio, all the better. After all it is just a word, but what we do with/in it is artistry.

Mine is called "Ganny's Toy Room," since it was established when my two Grandson' s were 1. They had their Toy room, and I had mine. As a southern girl, the word studio would just not fit..…

I like this "curious question" as it gives some ideas. Thanks for asking ocydroma.
