I have a curvemaster foot and haven't tried it yet. Going to take a class at my LQS and see if that will alleviate my fear of curves. I know that I can sew, just don't like ripping out stitches. There has got to be a way that is simpler and not so intimidating.

Here's a tutorial that I put together on stitching up a Rob Peter to Pay Paul block. The pieces were cut with an AccuQuilt Die Cutter, but the concept is the same.

The "trick" for me really was knowing which piece should go on top, slowing down, and holding the piece on top up & close to the needle. You'll see it. I stitch these without pins.

I've seen several quilters using this curve foot to sew curves without pins. (on videos). I haven't used it myself, so I don't know how well it works.

I just finished a quilt that the blocks were all quarter-circles (stack a deck quilt). Sewing curves isn't hard; I just hold the bottom piece in one hand and the top piece in the other. Stitch slowly, and maneuver the pieces as you go so that by the time they reach the needle, they are together. It's OK if they are not matching until that point. Sometime's it's necessary to stop with the needle down, lift the pressure foot, and begin again if it's a tight curve.

wow thank you lovebug this is very clear. I guess i have the nerve to get me a template for the double wedding ring (i love that pattern) and wanna try it so bad.
