Look for pins made in Japan. They are the best quality. The points are thin and sharp.

My needles from Japan are the best! (hand sewing and hand quilting etc) Where can I find safety pins ? I've searched the internet and haven't found them.

I agree with the nickel-plated pins. In addition, when I was pin basting I used a Kwik Klip. It really saves your fingers.

the kwik-klip is great but I recently learned they have stopped making them so if you want one, you better order quick.
I only have one and hope I never lose it. I don't think you could break it.
